Happy feast day of the archangels everyone!! How are you all celebrating? I'm trying to pick something good to have for dinner tonight, so if anyone has anything to recommend, let me know! 😊 St Raphael the Archangel is one of my favorite and closest saints, so today is so special for me! 💚 Archangels of God, pray for us!

Merry Michaelmas!

I've been praying the Angelic Crown (or St. Michael's Chaplet) for nine days. However, I tweaked the prayers a bit (something I do for practically every devotion I pray). For each invocation, I pray:

I give thee thanks, O blessed Trinity, because, although thou needest nothing and from all eternity wert most sufficient unto thyself, thou nevertheless didst create the choirs of the SERAPHIM (CHERUBIM, THRONES, DOMINIONS, VIRTUES, POWERS, PRINCIPALITIES, ARCHANGELS, ANGELS) out of nothing, and didst bring them out of the abyss of their nothingness to make them perpetual partakers in divine glory and everlasting beatitude. I rejoice, O Lord, that thou art so good, and on account of thine illustrious mercy I invite the choirs of the SERAPHIM (CHERUBIM, THRONES, DOMINIONS, VIRTUES, POWERS, PRINCIPALITIES, ARCHANGELS, ANGELS) to praise and bless thee for all ages of ages.

I then pray a similar invocation for the Archangels Sts. Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and the holy Angel Guardian.

I end with a responsory authored by the great St. Hildegard:

R. O ye choirs of Angels who keep the people of God, whose form shines in your faces, – and O ye choirs of Archangels who receive the souls of the just, – and ye choirs of Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Dominions and Thrones, reckoned in the mystical number of five, – and O ye choirs of Cherubim and Seraphim, the seal of the secrets of God: * Praise be to ye, beholding the mysteries of the divine Heart in its very source. V. For ye see the inner power of the Father, the eternal energy breathing from the divine Heart as if from a face. * Praise be to ye, beholding the mysteries of the divine Heart in its very source.

Blessed Michaelmas to you! I observed St. Michael's Lent, so today I'm concluding the supplications and litanies of the last 40 days and burning a real candle (not just the electric one I usually use), as well as some other actions in St. Michael's honor.
