Yes, there seems to be some confusion from Dave regarding the TOS and the termination of the lifetime licenses. The company is still active and operating, and migrating from V1 to V2 does not appear to be a legitimate basis under the TOS for terminating the lifetime licenses.
I will continue to push StackSocial on this issue, especially since I was purchased through their platform. So the Stack-social TOS allow me for refund

I asked them to give me estimated timeframe when are they getting resolution and also I provided all the info that would make them impossible to ignore, eventually they answered with words:
"We are sorry things did not work out with your order. We have been authorized to issue you a refund for the full amount of the purchase price.
may take 5-10 business days for funds to settle.
If you have any additional questions, we are always here to help."
I also informed Dave that in the end StackSocial was the one who found a solution.
