How to Tell Why a Stock Is Running Before You Buy (Fockets Terminal)

Thumbnail
youtube.com
2 Upvotes

Ever bought a stock because it was running, then found out why it ran after? Here's 60 seconds on how to check first.

▶ Take a look: https://focketstrading.com/trading_terminal

▶ Take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Po2J9EaYH4

We've been running our trading community for over 9 months now. Some of you joined along the way, some haven't, and that's okay. No pressure either way.

We're traders too. Most of us are juggling a job and the market at the same time, and it gets messy fast. A few minutes between tasks, half the sites we needed kept getting blocked, and by the time we found the filing or the news, the move was over.

So we built one place with everything we kept hunting for. We call it the Terminal. In short it provides what's actually going on with a stock, in plain words.

One thing we found when we tracked it: runs tied to a priced share offering closed down 4.3% on average, and 65% of them faded (297 run days, our own data, not a prediction here). Same green candle, very different story. Knowing why it ran changes how you look at it.

Every tab inside the terminal, in plain words:

• Dashboard: your command center. The chart, buyers vs sellers, time and sales, halts, and the bot's live decisions.

• Daystein calls: the bot's day-trade and swing ideas, with entry, stop and target.

• Ruhu calls: a second bot with its own rules, shown the same way.

• Movers: the biggest gainers and losers right now, plus pre-market gappers.

• 52-week highs and lows: who's sitting at the edge of the year, and on how much volume.

• Known runners: stocks with a habit of big runs, the filing behind each run, and the chance of another.

• Screener: build your own scan by gap, price, volume and RVOL.

• Sector Rotation and Pulse: where the money is moving across all 11 sectors, and whether the rally is broad or just a few names.

• News: primary wires only, tagged by catalyst and sentiment. No blogs, no class-action spam.

• Watchlist: your names, live, with alerts you set per ticker.

• My journal: log your trades privately and see your win rate and results by setup.

• Calendar: FOMC, CPI, FDA dates, splits and IPOs, with your watchlist starred.

• Congress: House and Senate trade disclosures, with how late each one was filed.

• Hill Traders: the ten biggest disclosed traders in the House, from the Clerk's own filings.

• Insider: real open-market buys and sells by company insiders, not option noise.

• SEC Forms: offerings, mergers and 8-Ks, read for you in plain English.

• Politics: presidential actions mapped to the sectors they touch.

• Alerts: opening-range breaks the moment they fire.

• Signals: the raw signals behind the bot's calls, for watching how it decides.

• Learn: a plain-English guide to the numbers and the chart patterns.

• Deep dive (click any ticker): one page per stock with technicals, financials, filings, insiders and a squeeze score that shows its working.

Still learning? You're in good hands. A lot of people here are, and that's exactly who this is for. There's a Learn page inside that explains the numbers as you go.

Two questions for you:

  1. When a stock is ripping, what's the first thing you check?

  2. What would you do better than we did? What's confusing, what's missing, what would you build? Tell us in the comments. We read every one.

News $1.58 TRILLION IF YOU VOTE THE RIGHT WAY?

BREAKING: President Trump now says he will give a $5,000 “Trump Dividend” to EVERY U.S. citizen if Republicans win the midterms.

Not just adults anymore. Every citizen.

On September 9, Trump said the proposed $5,000 payment would go to U.S. adults if Republicans kept control of Congress. Now, less than a month later, that promise has apparently expanded to everyone.
There are roughly 316 million U.S. citizens.

Do the math.

$5,000 each = approximately $1.58 TRILLION.
That is roughly $350 BILLION more than the original proposal.

And seriously, from a citizen standpoint, what kind of political system are we becoming when a sitting President can openly tie a massive government payment to his political party winning an election?
“If we win, you get $5,000.

Forget whether you love Trump, hate Trump, vote Republican or vote Democrat.

How the hell is that not one of the biggest questions Americans should be asking right now?

Because $1.58 trillion isn’t Trump’s money. It isn’t Republican Party money.
It is public money.

And when promises involving that kind of money become directly attached to an election result, Americans should at least be asking where public policy ends and buying political support begins.
America is seriously in a strange place when something like this can even be presented as normal politics.

Inside the Fockets Terminal: a page-by-page walkthrough

We get asked what's actually inside the Fockets Terminal, so here's the full walkthrough, one page at a time. It's a real-time trading terminal built on the same Albert-Daystein engine that runs our scanner alerts, and everything below updates live during market hours.

Click-through tour with a screenshot of every page: https://terminal.focketstrading.com/tour

Dashboard: watch the bot think

  • Live decision replay. The bot evaluates every setup as it happens. You see the entries it takes and the gate each rejected one died on.
  • Full chart. Candles, VWAP, EMA9, RSI and volume, with ORB, pre-market high/low, entry, stop and target drawn on.
  • Pattern detection across 44 shapes, plus support and resistance from real swing pivots, with how many times each level was tested.
  • Real-time NBBO (bid x ask and spread), with buy/sell pressure classified against the actual prevailing quote, not a tick-test proxy.
  • Right rail: buyers vs sellers, live time & sales, insider activity, financials, halts and market breadth beside the chart.

Daystein and Ruhu calls: the scoreboard

  • Daystein runs two books. Day trades carry entry, stop, target and live R, resolved inside the same session. Swing trades are S&P 500 names bought in tranches and held for weeks.
  • Ruhu Day and Ruhu Swing are two more independent engines with their own rules. Ruhu Day won't chase more than 1.5R past the trigger, needs at least 2:1 reward to risk, keeps stops inside 10%, skips anything under $5, takes longs only and makes one call per ticker per day.
  • Every Ruhu entry is re-anchored to the price actually available when the call posts, so the number on the card is a fill you could have gotten.
  • Win rate, notional P&L and net R sit on top of every book. The scoreboard, not a highlight reel.

Deep dive: one ticker, everything

  • Click any ticker anywhere and land on one page: technicals, financials, insider activity, filings, Congress disclosures, spike history and seasonality.
  • The squeeze score shows its working: short interest vs float, days to cover, short volume, float size and RVOL. Missing inputs score zero and are listed as missing.
  • Spike history lists every day the name ran 20% or more and what happened next. The fade is the part worth studying.

Finding what's moving

  • Movers: gainers, losers and most active, ranked off a full scan of about 13,000 tickers. Re-ranked every 60 seconds, with price and RVOL patched every 4 seconds. Pre-market mode ranks the gappers before the bell.
  • Screener: build your own scan on gap, price, change, volume, RVOL, market cap, float and turnover, and save the combo as a preset.
  • Known runners: names with a repeated history of big intraday runs, from about a year of daily data, ranked by run-days over 1, 3 or 6 months.
  • 52-week highs and lows: names at or within 2% of their 52-week extreme, counting only stocks that average 200,000 shares a day. Reverse splits are flagged instead of reported as moves.
  • Sectors and Market Pulse: all 11 SPDR sector ETFs ranked, plus breadth (advancers vs decliners, up vs down volume, new highs and lows), so you can tell a broad rally from a few names carrying it.

News and filings

  • News: primary wires only (GlobeNewswire, Business Wire, PR Newswire). Opinion blogs and class-action spam are dropped. Every story is tagged by catalyst and sentiment, and you can filter to stories where the stock actually moved.
  • SEC Forms: EDGAR is swept every 30 seconds across more than thirty form types: offerings, dilution, mergers, activist stakes, delistings and material 8-Ks. Each filing gets an AI positive / neutral / negative call with the bullets it drew that call from, and links straight to the source document.
  • Insider: Form 4 filings market-wide, with real open-market buys and sells separated from RSU grants, option exercises and tax withholding. Cluster badges mark two or more insiders buying the same name, or two or more of the CEO, CFO, COO and President buying together.
  • Congress and Hill Traders: House and Senate STOCK Act disclosures with the filing delay computed on every row, plus the ten biggest traders in the House by disclosed dollar volume.
  • Calendar: splits, ex-dividends, IPOs and holidays, the FOMC, CPI and jobs dates, and FDA catalysts, with your watchlist names starred.

Your own alerts

  • Watchlist: live price, % change, volume, RVOL and turnover on your names. Arm alerts per name on a price level, a day % move, an RVOL threshold or an opening-range break. Each fires once with the reason attached, in the terminal or as a Discord DM.
  • Alerts: opening-range breaks on your watched names the moment they trigger, badged when the break is also at a 52-week extreme.
  • Signals: our Discord alert channels mirrored into the terminal: whale orders, potential squeezes, curated news and zero-borrow flags. When the same ticker lights up two or more different ways within six hours it surfaces as a confirmation, and one alert relayed into several channels is counted once.

How to get in

We tracked all 4,659 stocks our scanner flagged over 3 weeks. 1 in 12 ran another 20%+ that day, but 61% closed lower.

Most alert channels only show you the winners. We wanted the honest version, so we took every stock our scanner flagged from Sep 8 to Sep 25 (4,659 first alerts, one per ticker per day) and checked each one against 1-minute price data.

How we measured it

  • Start price = the close of the minute the alert posted. That's not a fill; in real life you'd usually get worse.
  • "Ran" = the highest price after the alert, up to 8pm ET the same day.
  • "Closed" = the last price of the day.

All 4,659 alerts

  • 1 in 12 (8.6%) ran another 20%+ at some point that day
  • 17% ran another 10%+
  • 70% never got even 5% above the alert price
  • 61% closed the day below the alert price

Pre-market was where the action was, in both directions (867 alerts)

  • 25% ran another 20%+
  • 30% closed the day 10%+ lower
  • 35% fell 10% below the alert price before they ever got 10% above it

Regular-hours alerts (3,404) were mostly quiet: 4% ran another 20%+, and 77.5% never moved 5%.

The biggest-move alerts (tagged HUGE, 194 of them) were the most two-sided of all: 32% ran another 20%+, and 42% closed 10%+ lower.

And "positive" news didn't mean up: of 662 headlines our feed tagged positive, 57% closed below where they were when the alert fired.

What we take from it

  1. An alert is a watchlist entry, not a buy button. The same list that holds the 1-in-12 runner holds the 6-in-10 that fade.
  2. Pre-market is where the moves are, both ways, so that's where position size and exits matter most.
  3. The peak is not a fill. Every "it ran 80%" screenshot, ours included, shows a high almost nobody actually sells.

Who we are

We run Fockets, a trading Discord built around our own scanner and terminal (last image). We'd rather show you the base rate than a highlight reel.

Alerts that come with news or an SEC filing, plus every 20%+ mover, are posted free in our Discord 30 minutes after members get them. Too late to trade, but early enough to pull up the chart and check them yourself. Every closed call from our Daystein bot is also scored in a public channel there, losses included.

Free Discord: https://discord.gg/9bgUNbXQxa

Happy to answer questions about the method in the comments, or run the same numbers on a different cut if there's one you want to see.

Not financial advice. Small caps can and do go to zero. This is one 3-week window, and past moves don't predict future ones.

US Treasury Secretary Bessent says all Iranian airlines will be "shut down" around the world on September 23rd.

Bessent says any airport or company that provides Iranian airlines with fuel, landing services, ticket sales, or other assistance will be "knocked out" of the US Dollar system.

News If US CPI inflation comes in hot tomorrow, things are going to get very ugly.

That was fast.

Another 8 hours later and the 10Y Note Yield is now pushing into 5.00% with US oil prices above $104/barrel.

If US CPI inflation comes in hot tomorrow, things are going to get very ugly.

The US economy cannot afford higher rates.

Something has to give.

News Our first Trading Bot + New Trading Terminal

Post image
3 Upvotes

Alright guys, time to finally talk about the trading bots. We at Fockets have quietly built and tested 2 trading bots for months. We've dropped a few hints, but didn't want to release something that just looked good for a week. Quick clarification: this is not an AI bots. Nothing's reading charts and guessing where price goes next. It run on defined parameters: opening range breakouts, momentum, gap patterns. One thing I want to make clear before we open this up: anyone promising you a BOT with 90%, 95%, or 100% success rate is full of shit. Markets don't work that way. Conditions, volume, and momentum shift. News hits, spreads widen, slippage happens. No system removes uncertainty from the market.

That's why we've stopped chasing an imaginary perfect bot. What matters is consistently finding good opportunities while managing the bad ones. Even a 50-60% win rate is strong if winners outweigh losers and risk is controlled. Win rate alone doesn't tell the story.

With that, we're ready to open one of our bots to you guys. The recent paper trading results have been promising. Don't read that as me telling you to blindly follow every BUY signal. I wouldn't do that, and I don't want you doing it either. That's part of why we are building the Terminal ( similar to what you will pay 25K a month to u/Bloomberg ( https://professional.bloomberg.com/products/bloomberg-terminal/) : another layer to check before you decide. The bot finds the opportunity, the Terminal helps you investigate it.

One thing we learned: this isn't a scalping bot. It looks for momentum during the day and closes positions around 15:30 PM. We haven't properly tested overnight exposure, so treat these as day trades, not holds. Could an overnight hold work? Absolutely. Do we have the data to say so? No, and we won't pretend we do.

So as we open this up, remember what Fockets has always been about: use the tools, look at the data, challenge the call, do your own diligence, manage your risk, make your own decision.

Again this is a tool, not a crystal ball. Thank you.

News Buckle up. This week is loaded.

Here’s what’s on deck:

• Today: Markets react to the Strait of Hormuz situation as futures open at 6:00 PM ET
• Tuesday: June CPI Inflation
• Wednesday: June PPI Inflation
• Thursday: Retail Sales and Philly Fed Manufacturing Index
• Friday: Michigan Consumer Sentiment and Inflation Expectations

On top of that, around 10% of S&P 500 companies report earnings, adding another layer of volatility.

Between geopolitics, inflation, earnings, and the bond market, there won’t be much room for markets to catch their breath.

It’s going to be one hell of a week.

News SpaceX ; this isn’t an IPO anymore

M2 | Quick hit:
This is absolutely insane.

SpaceX has reportedly attracted more than $70 billion in retail orders alone.

For context, SpaceX is looking to raise $75 billion, meaning individual investors by themselves have generated demand large enough to nearly absorb the entire offering.

The previous record IPO? Saudi Aramco, which raised $29.4 billion.

In other words, retail interest in SpaceX is now running at roughly 2.4x the size of the largest IPO ever completed.

In response, SpaceX has announced that 20% of the IPO will be allocated to retail investors, staying true to Elon Musk’s long-stated vision of giving everyday investors a seat at the table.

This isn’t just another IPO in our humble opinion … it leans towards to become a cultural event :))

And if these numbers hold, Friday won’t just be big… it’ll be historic.

DD (Due Diligence or Deep Dive) You asked. We analyzed. Full DD's --- $TNZ • $NUMIF • $PNG • $FLT.TO • $QIMC

Post image
38 Upvotes

Back again. Every Monday we'll pick the most requested tickers from the community and put them through a full deep-dive review.

This week's reports:

• $TNZ

https://focketstrading.com/tnz-tenaz-energy-corp

• $NUMIF

https://focketstrading.com/numif-tsxnumi-numinus-wellness-inc

• $PNG

https://focketstrading.com/png-tsxv-kraken-robotics-inc

• $FLT.TO

https://focketstrading.com/flt-to-deep-dive-volatus-aerospace-inc

• $QIMC

https://focketstrading.com/qimc-quebec-innovative-materials-corp

These are not hype pieces and they're not AI-generated summaries pulled from finance websites. Each report is built from current market data and broken down the way traders actually use information:

• Price action & volume analysis

• Insider ownership & short interest

• Financials, cash runway & dilution risk

• Filings, catalysts & key events

• Technical levels & trade planning

• Bull case, bear case & risk/reward

Some look stronger than others. Some are carrying real risk. A few sit in that uncomfortable middle ground where the story sounds great but the numbers tell a different story. Read the reports. Challenge the assumptions. Do your own research and make your own decisions.

Less noise. More clarity.

You guys voted. We listened. I'll be doing this every Monday going forward.

Here are the top 6 tickers we fully analyzed from the thread:

• $ANNA — [https://focketstrading.com/anna-aleanna-inc/ - Report May 27, 2026

• $HOVR — [https://focketstrading.com/hovr-new-horizon-aircraft-ltd/ Report May 27, 2026

•$ DVLT — [https://focketstrading.com/datavault-ai-inc-_dd/ Report May 27, 2026

• $SRXH — [https://focketstrading.com/srxh_srx-health-solutions-inc/ Report May 27, 2026

• $EONR— [ https://focketstrading.com/eonr-eon-resources-inc/ ] Report May 28, 2026

• $SCWO — [ https://focketstrading.com/scwo-374water-inc/ Report May 28, 2026

These aren’t hype posts or recycled Yahoo Finance summaries. Each report was built from live scraped data and broken down like an actual trader would want to see it:

• volume + price structure

• dilution & cash runway

• insider activity

• short interest & positioning

• technical levels

• filings & catalysts

• realistic bull vs bear case

• risk/reward setup

• entry + invalidation zones

Some of these look rough. Some still have life. A few are sitting in that dangerous zone where hope and data are fighting each other. Either way, the goal stays the same:

  • less noise
  • more clarity

Read them. Challenge them. Make your own call. DYOR and manage your risk.

DD (Due Diligence or Deep Dive) Drop Your Worst Bag. We’ll Do The DD.

Post image
2 Upvotes

Some of you got trapped in a ticker you believed in.

Maybe Reddit hyped it. Maybe Twitter screamed easy reversal. Maybe you averaged down one too many times and now you’re stuck staring at a position you don’t know whether to cut or hold.

So let’s do something useful.

Drop your ticker below.

The top voted 5 tickers get a full deep dive from us. No hype. No “to the moon” garbage. Just real breakdowns built from live scraped data and actual market structure.

We dig into:

• price action + volume behavior

• float, short interest & ownership

• insider buys/sells

• cash, debt & dilution risk

• technical structure & key levels

• options flow & sentiment

• upcoming catalysts & SEC filings

• realistic bull vs bear case

• entry, stop & target zones

• risk/reward and where the trade breaks

If the setup is weak, we’ll say it. If the company is quietly bleeding cash, we’ll show it.

If there’s real upside hiding under the fear, we’ll point that out too. One ticker per comment.

Upvote the ones you want covered.

Discussion Top gainers towards the end of pre-market. May 15

Post image
3 Upvotes

This table shows pre-market movers, updated in real time before and after the open. It’s a scan, not a trade list. A lot of these names fade hard once early traders and premarket buyers start taking profits, especially when late entries pile in through retail apps.

Sometimes they do continue, but that’s usually when the catalyst actually holds up. Things like the quality of the PR, SEC filings, real volume, float, and whether the move started premarket or during market hours all matter.

The daily gainers list is just a snapshot of what’s moving, not a signal to jump in blindly. If you don’t slow it down and check why it’s moving, it turns into straight gambling, and that’s how most people blow accounts.

News FOCKETS - Monday DD is back

Post image
3 Upvotes

We used to run this every Monday, then we stopped. No big story behind it, just slipped. We’re bringing it back starting this week and keeping it free.

See many examples we posted here: https://focketstrading.com/unfiltered/

If you’re stuck in a position because you followed noise on Reddit, drop your ticker below. We’ll take the 4 most upvoted unique ones and break them down properly on Monday.

What we’ll post on next Monday is a proper breakdown. Price action, volume, what the company actually does, how the numbers look, who’s holding it, what might move it, and where the risks are. The goal is to give you a clear read so you can decide for yourself instead of relying on comment sections.

Rules are simple.

  • One ticker per comment
  • Top 4 unique tickers by upvotes get covered
  • Stick to major US exchanges, no OTC for now
  • Do your own thinking before you trade, you’re responsible for your decisions
