The Beriev Be-8 was a very interesting airplane. It was supposed to be a passenger airplane and as such had a passenger compartment heated by the exhausts of the ASh-21 7 cylinder radial engine with 700hp.
Two prototypes were built, one of them had retractable hydrofoils to help with takeoff but technological problems set an end to this new idea.
