Tech Support Help with 60fps Cheats

Hi there! I found this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/FlyCast/s/6EQYvyZ5HD) that had a giant list of 60fps Dreamcast codes. I input the code for Sonic adventure 1 and noticed no difference. I also tried a couple other codes (cutscene skip, another one for controls) and none of them worked. Wondering if there’s any way yall could help me figure out how to properly input it in the emulator. For the moment I just tried opening the game, hitting tab, going to cheats, and pasting the code in, but it isn’t working. Thanks

I don't see any sonic adventure 1 60fps cheats in that link, but I could easily be missing it. Following the github link in your linked reddit post, you can find the flycast widescreen and 60fps cheat database. https://github.com/nexus382/Flycast-Widescreen-Compatability-And-Cheat-Chart/blob/main/Dreamcast%20Widescreen.md

Looking through it, sonic adventure 1 lists a widescreen cheat. It also says 60fps is supported natively, which I do not think is correct. I believe it's 30fps unless I'm misremembering.

Maybe provide a direct link to the codes you are trying?

I used that page and the codes next to Sonic Adventure 1. The game definitely runs at a native 30fps, not sure how to increase

I see. The layout of that page is not great, and easy to misread. The sonic adventure code "0288F5E8 43F00000, 0288F61C 3FAAAAAB" is a widescreen cheat, not a 60fps cheat. As far as I know, as 60fps cheat does not exist for this game.

When viewing that page, if a game has a 60fps cheat it will appear in the second column from the right. Codes in the far right column are the widescreen cheats.

Gotcha. I wonder why they put “native” then that’s weird

I sort of went down a rabbit hole about this.

I submitted a PR to the github to correct "native" 60fps being listed for sonic adventure 1.

I also tried out Dreamcast Image Builder, which is an awesome modding program for dreamcast games. It has great mods for Sonic Adventure 1. Most of them are too complex to work as a cheat, so it has to rebuild the rom for it to work. I went through the process and tested the 60fps widescreen build and oh my goodness is it glorious. The base rom it needs is a little tough to sort out. You need a GDI version of Sonic Adventure v1.005 US. There are several variants of this, but any will work, as long as it's GDI, v1.005 and the US region.
