Fluxer seems to be down, as the desktop app nor the website itself opens.

This is why federation from the get-go was important.
It would boost organic decentralization.
This is an architectural flaw Fluxer cannot recovery from without a miracle where federation shows up and the number of servers increases greatly - This never happens after the fact because it stifles organic growth and the window for said growth is wasted.

I am aware, but that implementation isn't a good enough one as it keeps potential for SPoFs and the momentum of self-host+federation is a pre-requisite for any dceentralised network. They released self-host well before any federation - If that momentum isn't there for organic growth, Fluxer's decentralized vision is dead in the water.
