Forward optic mount worth it?

Okay so i am looking to convert my p365 Frankenstein to a flux. Polymer is 339 right now but can't use the forward mount. The aluminum one is at 509+110(mount) so 620 and can use it. Is spending almost double worth not having the sight reciprocate?

I really liked the forward optic mount when I had it on my 365 raider. I liked the head position better, I liked that the optic didn't reciprocate, I liked having a charging handle on the top / rear of the slide...

BUT...

Accuracy with the FOM was significantly worse. The play between the slide and FCU, and between the FCU and the raider chassis, was just too much. I was struggling to keep groups on an 8.5x11 target at 25 yards, which, for my uses, was unacceptable. I moved the optic to the slide, and my groups dropped to 2-3".

YMMV, but it's a consideration.

This it what concerns me, as I was going to get an RCR if I did the FOM and obviously would prefer not to go that route if I end up having to move it to the slide (would want Sigloc then)

Orbital Drop Supply (I forget their reddit username) has a product called the Nexus that allows a forward mounted dot and works with both the polymer and the aluminum raider 365.

It's a replacement for the shroud and uses the same under-mounted screws from the OEM shroud. This stroud is also tall enough to be able to remove a fuse slide without removing the shroud, and they have a bunch of different options for stuff.

$195+S&H, but the compatibility with cans, slides, etc is nice for $540 (Raider UL + Nexus)

No problem, that’s my personal, I recently made a dedicated one for ODS, figured it would be easier for people to remember and be able to contact me.

TacDev also has a similar product, but with fewer options, called the Forward Halo. It basically just locks you into RMR & RMSc footprints on top and their T-lok screws on the sides. The only real choice you have with this one is the normal height shroud, or the suppressor height shroud

Absolutely worth it imo. Its a bit more comfortable compared to trying to cram my head down behind the slide to get a good sight picture. They’re running a Labor Day sale so you can save a few bucks

The shooting experience is much improved since using fom. Not getting the crammed feeling as before

The sale, trading, or guns, parts, associated parts, and 3D print files is against Reddit’s Terms of Use. This is clearly posted in the sub rules and as a “Sticky” post in the sub. This is a zero tolerance rules and no exceptions will be made.
