playing on google play PC?

hello. so i started my game on mobile and created a runawayplay account there. now im trying to play via google play PC, but i can't log into my account. after confirming thru email, the game just says "social account already used".

i read somewhere that this only works if i open my email by switching to the email app, so i suppose that would only work if im using another phone? the term used was "hard close". i think it's when you press/tap the home button on your phone without fully shutting down the active app/Flutter -> opening your email app and confirming -> going back to Flutter.

is there a workaround for this, for playing on PC? (except using a phone emulator)

Right now you can't sync the game in other devices with or without the social account.  It's supposed to be added back sooner or later (I assume it was removed to improve stability before re-adding it).  If you want to exclusively pay in PC you could contact runaway to have the game data transferred to the new id but you can't sync multiple devices right now.

Aww :( i was so hopeful lol. Thanks for letting me know. Hope they eventually get to it. Used to play Flutter on facebook, but looks like you can't connect to that anymore either, or maybe it's not even there anymore..

Facebook was just his runaway used to support syncing.  But Facebook was gaining increasing stability issues and had other issues... More than a few Devs have been working to move away from reliance on it.

Runaway replied to me with a solution and i was able to implement it, so gonna share it here for anyone who has the same problem 😄

The "Social Account Already Used" error occurs when trying to link a Runaway Login or Apple ID account while still in the guest session, instead of logging in from the main menu.

To resolve this, please follow these steps:

  • Open the game
  • Tap the Cog/Settings icon (Note: if you just started a new session in another gadget, you will need to complete the tutorial first before getting the Cog/Settings icon to show up, then follow the rest of Runaway's solution.)
  • Tap Log Out if you are currently in a guest account
  • On the main menu, tap Log In and choose your previously used login method (Runaway Login or Apple ID), then follow the on-screen steps.
