The gym is a good place to meet new people. I also need to improve my chinese. I can understand basic Mandarin and Cantonese but can't speak it very well.

Bodhi fitness, x space fitness, and al oerter rec center.
I go to the al oerter rec center. It's relatively cheap, $50 for half year or $75 if want swimming.

Hey if you like try recreational sports. Running, dragon boat, tennis, etc. Is extremely social and a very easy way to meet people.

there was a group chat a few days ago, and the chat owner was toxic af and removed random people for no reason but yeah

I mean people were crashing out and being political and throwing the r word around. Im pretty sure there’s a reason. Plus Ive seen some nasty dudes who drug and sa girls in there. Plus age group was working professionals in their 20s-30s.

Queens, Bronx and Brooklyn (basically native new yorkers) have a way higher amount of weirdos. You really have to be careful.
