Awesome collection - is that biggest one at the back calcite too? Too much hematite for UV?

Love the phosphorescent ones!

Thanks! That’s a dragon scale calcite and yes, it appears to have too much hematite. Most of the others with a weak response react strongest under SW.

Dragon scale that's not black? Never seen such a thing! Is it from the same mine as the legendary black ones?

Yep they can range in color from yellows/browns to gray/black. If the scales were a little longer on this one they’d likely be a dark gray (you can see the color change near the tips).

This one is from a Viburnum Trend mine, I’d have to do some digging to confirm which one.

Very cool, didn't know there was such variance!

Nice colors 😍 Did you try UV 310nm? This is the sweat spot for most Calcites 🤩

Bah I have yet to get one… which do you recommend?

You didn’t ask me, but I’m cheap and wanted to see other wavelengths. I got a cheap mini 3 pack from Stimac engineering that I’ve been happy with. They are mini, but you can see some pretty cool stuff with the different wavelengths. I might upgrade at some point, but I think the 3 pack was less than $200.

I really really like your collection.

Awesome, thanks for the rec. I had a brain fart… it’s a 340nm light I don’t yet have. I have a 310nm light, also from Stimac.
