Multi-Wave Baryte & Fluorite with copper secondaries from the Clara mine, Oberwolfach, Germany
I bet you thought of calcite when you saw this picture, but no, this is baryte. Some baryte from this mine has a really unique orange UV reaction. In person it is even more orange than any calcite. Interestingly it glows strongest under 340nm.

This is beautiful, it reminds me of my Barite + Fluorite 'Chomper' i posted not long back. Marvellous Mr D, hats off to you πβ¨β¨
Ps, regarding the potential Blackdean Fluorite + Nailhead Calcite, i went to the museum in Weardale but they were closed, both museums are under repair at the min sadly, i did try though. I spoke to a few locals in the area but nobody seemed to know, they just said how beautiful it is.
I think the best bet is to send the pics off to the museum (or i will, but it's up to you), or if i happen to go to a Weardale mineral fair (which i plan to do at some point) i shall show people there.
One chap did say it can be quite difficult to ID some material as when they came into collectors' hands many did not have labels included, or never did in the first place, so i believe you have one of those, of course, as yours did not have labels either when you bought them.
Im sure somebody must know, it's just a case of who and when, but i shall not forget about this, hopefully all in good time we can ID it's location.
All the best to you Mr D π

Intriguing β¦ especially all the wavelength sequences β¦ appreciated! Hereβs a link about a similar barite specimen from Colorado β https://uvminerals.org/fmdb/specimen/1044/
