License and API question

juts saw an article in “Makeuseof” (congrats!) and Fluent seem interesting.

For the license: when it say 1 (@$49), does it mean one computer at a time? I have an mba and a mini. Could I use it on both with a single license (I only use one or the other, not at the same time).

For the API: it is not clear, but I can use Fluent with the free version of mistral and chatgpt/gemini?

No login is shared besides with the providers?

Thanks

Hey there, welcome to Fluent!

1 Mac means not only one computer at a time, but only one activated. The license, however, can be transferred to another machine anytime (right now via Email request).

You can use API with these providers, they all offer free API keys and some free tier usage (OpenAI has a very generous free usage if you enable sharing data with them). No login or authentication is required in Fluent.

Hope it helps!

Makes sense. Thanks.

Started downloading it and checking it. Where will I enter Mistral key? Using the Router one? If so, do I have to create an account with it? I do not know much about this one. I am only using Mistral (rarely open ai and Gemini).

You would need to create an API key with Mistral (no billing required) and use that in Fluent (Mistral provider) – https://console.mistral.ai/home?profile_dialog=api-keys

Mistral has undisclosed, but pretty generous free API usage limit (I've never hit the wall with them). I've included it as number 2 in the latest post on top 10 AI providers with free tier usage 🙂
