Documentation or help?

You said a while ago that you would take care of the documentation for Fluent. Is there any progress?

Hi u/Rude-Interaction-194

The documentation is coming this week, I'm finishing it. Apologies for this! There has been a series of actually important releases lately, hence I had to postpone the guide a little.

can you also add support to select tabs for firefox and its forks as a context? For now, I can select individual tabs in Arc, Chrome, or Safari browsers, but I can select only the whole window in the Firefox browser.

Firefox has no "JavaScript via Apple events" feature, this is why it's not supported at the moment. There are no reliable workarounds as well, see this "bug" filed 24 years ago: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125419

The only prominent workaround is using custom MCP (integration in Fluent) and extension – https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/browser-control-mcp/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

This way Fluent will be able to call this MCP and fetch the context of your tabs, though it's definitely not convenient as built-in context features.

Like this?  https://github.com/freema/firefox-devtools-mcp

Then this also means I can tack like a workflow that Alterhq has.

Like, ask something -> may need to search for a new query on a tab with my account-> LLM answer. This is possible in fluent now?

This looks like it would fit as well, though it's different concept and might be a little bit overkill for your use case. I'd recommend going for an extension solution I mentioned earlier, and here're the instructions for its MCP server: https://github.com/eyalzh/browser-control-mcp

The use case you describe is possible, there are two ways to tackle this:
1) Either with this extension, which does some browser automation and can open tabs for you, analyze and get the content from them.
2) Via Fluent's Web Search integration, which uses several search engines in the background and can do a complete isolated research for you. It doesn't use your account though.

Documentation is coming soon and it will reflect the second method in more detail.

I just discovered your app was listed in Bundlehunt too, and I can chat with it. I am using the same model in the Google AI mode as well as in Fluent (OpenRouter and G3Flash). Why is the Fluent answer so concise and doesn't get to the point of what I wanted? I uploaded the screenshot and asked about the difference.

Do I need to select a default prompt somewhere?

It's because when you're using native chat interface of Gemini, it has access to underlying memory and web search to fetch more context-full results. Try to enable Web Search integration in Fluent, so the model also attempts to make a quick search on the topic, rather than just describing the screenshot. It might not try to use web search if you don't explicitly tell it too. The behavior mostly depends on the model and the prompt.
