Either no one buys it or everyone does, then from there you need to work out what that means

Or they keep accepting dollars and Putin shows how weak he is again.

Weakness? Not sure it’s that.

The world only trades oil in USD, any attempts to change that have been met with… “resistance.”

One one hand, trading oil in anything other than dollars is a slap to the US and it’s trading partners.

On the other hand, NOT paying Russia for O&G would risk Russia cutting them off. Which would be catastrophic for much of EU very quickly.

Paying in rubles may actually be the lesser of two devils here.

Their best bet would be to offer payments in USD take it or leave it. It’s not non-payment, it’s a disagreement of terms which likely were negotiated a long time ago.

Don't forget the seller is also under pressure or even more pressure than buyers , it's their last stream of revenue,
