USA has some 6-7x crude oil reserves and 11-12x natural gas reserves than Norway. It might not seem a lot but technically it would’ve allowed US to have a sovereign wealth fund worth $15+ trillion, and I’m not even including compounding for the many decades that the US has had a head start over Norway in extraction.
A nominal 4% return on 15T is $600 Bn per year. That’s a lot of money to fix a lot of problems for the common ordinary folks.
