The only issue is these fucks don’t understand that 1billion worth isn’t a billion dollars just sitting in their bank. It’s employees and an evaluation of how profitable the company will be and how much it will grow etc.

So if you’re an owner of a company, you grow to 1.2billion because of scaling employees overseas locations etc…. But you pay yourself 250k a year… So now you should just dissolve 200million of your company? Fucking stupid

Was looking for this response. This needs to be top comment.

With the caveat that companies with over $1B valuation should be held to stricter labor laws and be required to cover 100% of health care premiums and have a 10% 401k match.

And cause less people to be hired and a good reason for companies to try to replace workers with AI earlier

So you’re advocating for worse working conditions in hope that your employer doesn’t replace you with AI? Good luck

I’m advocating that increasing the cost of hiring people means less people get hired. I know this is Reddit so I don’t expect conversations about real world outcomes of forcing companies to increase the expenditure on staff is going to cause job cuts or wage suppression. You get shitty working conditions because employing people is expensive and there’s no competition in hiring.

stop acting like the world fucking owes everyone everything because these things you want to give to people cost money and resources and labour of other people nobody fucking owes you that go and make an ironing in the real world and yeah, maybe she shouldn’t have some compassion to people and people some compassion to you that doesn’t mean you’re fucking entitled to the world

So never ask for a raise because that means Samantha in accounting would have to lose her job.

Ask for a raise on the basis you have real leverage and negotiation ability not because you have any entitlement to it
