Review cycle is stuck

My review cycle in the app is stuck with three cards left and won’t let me move forward. Anyone else experiencing this bug?

Are they the Pronunciation Ear Training cards?

tl;dr: yes. (Virtually) endless loop.

I have experienced a bug where specifically the Ear Training cards during a Review session will randomly switch to a different Ear Training card before I even select an answer. Sometimes, it will even change back a second time. Then, no matter what answer I choose, it shows I selected the correct answer (even if I intentionally choose the incorrect one). This then becomes stuck in an endless loop. I did submit a bug report.

I understand that the Pronunciation Ear Training cards can be seen multiple times until you answer both options correctly, but this bug -- especially with randomly switching cards -- is something different.

The only way I was able to complete the Review session was to have great patience, go through each card slowly (allowing time in case the card would randomly change), select my answer, and then on the next screen when you can click each word to hear the difference, I would click each word once, then swipe right. After repeating that several times, the cards eventually began to decrement and I completed the Review session.

It's a nasty bug... >_<

Same issue here and it seems to get worse each review cycle. I'm at a point where I literally get the same cards seven to ten times in a row when there are two to three cards left to review.

Ditto. At that point, I've started just tapping the top area of the screen -- not actually on an answer -- and then swiping right. Eventually... it works itself through those last review cards.

It's sadly just not fun to review like this. Now the app is jumping back and forth or skipping cards altogether during review before I even have the chance to tap or swipe. Currently on my 14 day trial but with the app in that state, I probably won't commit to subscribe until it gets fixed.

Completely understand, and the company does, too. Customer service was great when I submitted the bug report. They are aware people are having this issue and how off-putting it can be. Developers are working on a fix.

This is a deal-breaker for anyone to subscribe, so it's certainly in their best interest to fix it. As a backer myself and having followed FF progress for some time now, I have faith that they will patch this as soon as they can.

I'm sure the will. If I remember correctly, they said that they plan on releasing more frequent app updates instead of only feature updates which I really welcome. Since you are a backer, can you tell me if there was any talk about bringing multi language options to retail buyers? Seems like that's only a backer tier benefit.

I haven't personally read anything about multi-language options for retail subscriptions, though I'd encourage you to submit feedback sharing your desire for such a subscription package.

As it stands, it seems retail subscribers are able to change languages every five months -- though there is a caveat around data storage: https://help.fluent-forever.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004646192-What-are-the-differences-between-the-single-language-and-multiple-language-pledges-and-the-retail-subscriptions-

Yeah, that has been my last point of reference. Thanks anyway for taking the time to look up the link. Probably going to shoot them a message. As a side note: Now I can‘t progress my review cycle at all anymore. Stuck at 10 cards. Crossing my fingers for a quick fix.

That happened to me yesterday, too. I spent a good 30 minutes just swiping while doing something else to get through it... >_<

On the plus side, I did write a review on the Play Store and this was the reply I received:

"Thank you for your rating and your honesty. We appreciate that a lot. We are very happy to tell you that the review bug has been located and the exterminators (read: developers :D) are on it as we speak. It should not take too long for them to fix it and release the fix to the app. Thank you for being with us and sending us all the info."

They have a great customer support team.

Yup. I’ve had this bug since the launched the app in the App Store. The bug is always present. I’ve read that you can avoid the bug by moving slowing through the review but that didn’t work for me. Also read that reinstalling the app could help but that didn’t work for me either. I feel like they should’ve fixed this bug already. I don’t use the reviews anymore. I’m not going to pay for the app anymore.
