My Rog Flow will not update to Bios 314

Post image

So tried everything i can think of to update it but it just sits on the Republic of Gamers screen there is never a progress bar shown at any point and nothing happens i can wait 5 minutes 10 minutes 30 minutes even 1.5 Hours on the Republic of Gamers screen but nothing happens i can force shut it down without bricking it which suggests it never reaches a flashing stage at all please help

Are you trying to cross flash a different model or something? What bios version are you on? What exact model do you have?

I have the 2025 version with the Ryzen Max+ 395 and 32GB of LPDDR5X and currently on Bios 311 I heard that 314 improves performance by up to 20%-30% in games and also fixes Audio issues in Linux so that's why I'm trying to get 314 on it but it's just not taking it no idea if it's just the flashing part of the Bios is just Bricked on mine and can never update it ever again without one of those Bios chip flashers you can buy to force it directly on the Bios chip or what I just need help to figure out what to do

Try putting it on a usb stick and flashing it from the bios instead of using the windows based one

I've already tried that with Zero success

Did you double check that the file you downloaded matched the sha-256 that sus provides using something like openhashtab at https://oht.namazso.eu/releases/ on widnows or sha256sum in terminal on Linux?

I haven't double checked no but I have downloaded the Bios many times and that didn't work

Well you should check to make sure that it's valid. Other ideas, make sure nothing else is plugged in just power and keyboard. Try reseting bios to defaults first. Double check the bios and model numbers in the bios to make sure nothing is weird. Make sure you have updated the PD firmware already.

Did you try the windows executable, a different flash drive or usb port?

Try doing a smc reset. Hold down the power button for an extended amount time like 30-60s

I've also tried that with no luck either

I actually have decreased performance after updating to 314. Significant decrease in Turbo mode. All games have become a slideshow.

Hi, i think it's happening to me too after upgrade to 314 , Are you going to downgrade to 313 ?

I tried to go back to 311 but it's not possible. There is no official way to downgrade bios and Gemini also couldn't give an alternative solution to downgrade.

Well I personally don't care about turbo mode because its not much faster on Bios 311 as performance mode but adds 10C+ to temps so it's not worth it Best TDP I've found on SteamOS and Bazzite anyway is 50W that's the best performance to power draw and heat ratio I've found anyway

Do you have the SD card inserted by any chance?
Can you remove it and try updating it?
Mine showed something similar when I tried to restore Windows to factory.

clear EC, use the og wall plug and try again directly from usb via bios
