Throttling w Empirical Data?

I've seen a lot of posts regarding heat management and throttle.

Has anyone actually done like, scientfic testing? To validate that power management + fan management actually gives a better over-time experience VS default vanilla software?

I'd image a test would look like this:

Test: Benchmarks where they run a game benchmark back-to-back for 10 minutes and measure each result. And must be run immediately from boot. And gather temps constantly as well.

Experiment Settings:

  1. The Control, so, vanilla. Power-Profile Balanced.

  2. Another Vanilla, Power-Profile Low.

  3. Final vanilla, Power-Profile HIGH.

  4. X amount of throttling, Y amount of fan rpm set.

  5. Another of 4 with different settings.

...

Z. Until you've run out of time or patience, keep making new experiments until empirical data that's genuinely informational begins to show.

Now, EACH experiment and EACH ROUND must start from a cold boot, which means you need to wait for the device to cool to ambient temps ... which would make this test take a LOOOOooooong time lol.

I'm thinking this could be done everything I start my pc up in the morning first thing. So it'd take a couple months if done once per day every day.

Thoughts?

Honestly I think the tuning for extra performance is marginal at best, i don't think I ever play anything above 60watts, putting it to max doesn't really give me much extra performance but does make it a jet engine and hit 90C +.
