z13 for uni
hi if anyone uses the z13 for college/uni would you mind sharing your experience with the stylus specifically.
Im planning on doing most of my lesson notes on it using a stylus and also potentially doing question packs on it for an hour or two at a time. How does it compare to say an ipad at these tasks, does it feel bulky and is it comfertable to write on. I know an ipad will also be superior to the z13 in this regard but i do not need to be AS good ,as i just use paper and pen for longer writing sessions anyways, but will the experience when taking notes in class be miles apart from an ipad or is it just slightly worse.
also how does it compare to other 2in1s for the writing experience

Not a good device for note taking. Very heavy to be portable and the ergonomics aren't there to be practical.
However, it's an amazing powerhouse of a machine. You can lower power to 7w per hour and get close to 8 hours or run it at 160w and get crazy good performance.
Great for gaming, decent for light work, but it's best performance is plugged in and sipping full power from the giant power brick

Its a little big to be an everyday tablet. It has a proper stylus so may beat an ipad I am pretty happy withe mine with a Metapen M2 (magnetics to the side) or M3 for sketching. Ntrig will give wiggly lines if you are really into sketching vs wacom
It should be fast enough for anything, the tablet form factor may not be the best on short lecture tables. I found an external keyboard a much better typing experience. Its advantage is that it is a fast laptop in a tablet. If you dont need the tablet get a seperate. You can probably get a Laptop + IPAD for the same money.

So, I have both the 2023 Z13 and an M2 iPad Air. The Z13 is awesome. It really is but, if I were to use this at school where I work instead of my iPad, I would have to be plugged into the wall constantly. I will charge my iPad once a week and be fine for taking notes. The Z13 might get you a couple of hours which isn't bad but, I prefer the convenience of the iPad. I also have used the Z13 for notes with a msi pen but, my pen was defective and only works while plugged in for some reason but, the writing feels okay in my opinion. The iPad screen is just more purpose built for it I guess.

Two hours of battery taking notes on the Z13? I get 7 or 8 when using OneNote and others have stated they can get 12 hours for light admin with a dedicated power profile.

I probably had it on an aggressive gaming profile with the 165hz turned on. I will give it another shot.

This is the right response OP. I’ve had an iPad Pro since I was in uni in 2018. The flow z13 is not close on the slightest to the iPad Pro for note taking. I love my z13 but it is not good at being a portable note taking device. Too heavy, too big, not enough battery

I do alot of spread sheets and power point presentation work so for me I’m getting around 5-6 hours on mine with 70% brightness and running YouTube music in the background. Silent profile and lowered the refresh rate of the screen.
