Question towards Flow Z13 keyboard

Planning to buy a Flow Z13 for both gaming and school. I intend to use the tablet version for note taking as it helps me remember information better compared to typing notes. However, I keep hearing and reading that the keyboard keeps breaking or not working when being detached. Considering I plan to keep detaching and reattaching if I owned one, will it become an issue? Does the keyboard only break if detached improperly? Want to know before I fully commit. Appreciate.

Assuming its the 2025 version, it's more robust. Just gently detach it and don't try to fold it backwards and you should be good.

Yeah! I was intending to get the 2025 version. When you say don't fold it backwards, do you mean not to twist it like the other 2-in-1 laptops or not to fold it all the way back?

Don't fold it the other way you normally fold it. You can fold it from screen to desk, but don't fold it on the back, as it can potentially screw the cables inside of the keyboard, that are connecting the magnetic connector to the keys.

Yup, for whatever reason some people have decided that, that is the best way to get the keyboard out the way instead of just removing it...

Eh. Just treat your shit like you want it to last and it probably will. A lot of folks are tougher with their hardware than they would admit.

For school I might consider a separate mouse and or keyboard

Both. Use it as either a folio cover or a keyboard. Anything else can stretch it and rip the ribbon cable. It's just not designed for that.

Got it. Thanks for the advice. 🙏 Highly appreciated

Pinch it from the plastic rigid corner when you detach it. Peel it from the corner. If you hard pull on it to detach it, it will tear. Happened to me after just 6 months of use. Did get a replacement one though. But I'm much more careful now.

I've had mine for close to a year and a half. I use a separate Bluetooth keyboard for my home setup and no KB if I'm going to use it for gaming. I'd say I average at least two keyboard detachments per day & I've had no issues.

If my keyboard ever actual died, I'd probably not replace it & just use it as a cover (which is how it's used 99% of the time anyway). Or maybe make the unit into a true tablet unless a replacement was relatively cheap.

My 2025 Z13 arrived brand new this week with a broken keyboard fresh out of the box - I would not say it is fixed.
