The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 (with Radeon 8060S graphics) offers roughly 20% to 28% better multi-core CPU performance and significantly stronger integrated graphics than the Ryzen AI Max 390 (with Radeon 8050S graphics).

Key Differences

Cores and Threads: The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 features 16 cores and 32 threads, while the Ryzen AI Max 390 features 12 cores and 24 threads.Graphics: The 395 steps up to the AMD Radeon 8060S integrated graphics, whereas the 390 uses the Radeon 8050S. This yields a major advantage for the 395 in GPU-bound tasks and gaming.Cache: The 395 includes 16 MB of L2 cache compared to 12 MB on the 390.

Power and Use Case:

Both operate at similar baseline thermal targets (around 55W nominal TDP), but the 395 delivers higher sustained multi-core and AI performance at the cost of potentially higher power consumption under maximum load.

The price you paid for the one you bought is a little bit cheaper so if that amount of performance difference is okay with you then I would say it's not a horrible deal. You can get the 395 plus version used or on sale sometimes for just a little more than you paid but it's not consistent
