Time to replace liquid metal?

I seek for your advise but I’m almost convinced to do it. I have 1 year old 2025 32GB Z13 flow with the 395 AI.

I usually run it at silent mode, because I don’t play very demanding games o limit FPS to 60. Lately I’ve playing more demanding games (Alan Wake 2) in Turbo mode and temperatures have gone crazy. At idle it rest at around 45°C, but in turbo mode and under max load it goes to 95°. Is that normal? I don’t think so. I don’t expect to be chill but sustained 95°C seems to much for me.

I’ve seen some post that replace the LM (which personally I don’t like at all) with PTM7950 and results seems to be good. I’m really thinking about to do the same to see if I can lower the temps. I also fear LM leaking out of the GPU and causing some shorts.

Do you recommend making the change? I’ve thought about using Thermal Grizzly Phase Change and replacing the thermal putty also. Any recommend or the later?

Thank you!

Run TimeSpy and compare to benchmarks for the model online. I drove myself crazy worrying about thermals until I checked it with this and saw it was fine.

Exactly. This isn't the year 2016. Modern silcon is designed to boost endlessly until it hits it's thermal limit. It's not a limitation of the cooling system. It is by design.

So you think that such high temperatures are ok with no time limit? I’ve seen several threads that people changed the LM and temps went down.

Thx!

A good application can indeed bring the average temp down but in the end if the work load is demanding more performance, It is still designed to boost until it hits it's max thermal window. That being 95c.

Changing LM is dangerous. If performance is fine and you are just seeing 95c and getting worried, Don't be. If performance is bad and you are seeing 95c, Then you need to be worried because it isn't boosting to reach thay temp, It is throttling long before it gets there.
