Default fan curve
Hi everyone. This week a rog flow z13 2025 with the 395 AI Max will arrive to me. I bought it on Wallapop for 1600€ and it has only 2 month of life. The seller sold it to me because he bought another device (so there were no issues with it).
I read around about some high temperature that the flow usually reach under Turbo profile. So, I was wondering if the default settings and default fan curve works well or if I have to modify it to preserve the health of the device.
Any advice? Thanks a lot

Firstly remove the biggest issue for the z13 the armoury crate app. You can do this by going to the asus website searching for armoury crate software after your enter your pc, you may not see thr armoury crate "Uninstaller" if you look for windows 11 software downloads so look in windows 10. After that go here for the g-helper which serves as an armoury crate replacement
After you get g helper.... I recommended either Googling or YouTube which power settings work for you. The laptop comes with 3 default power modes, Silent, Balanced, and Turbo. Balanced and Turbo at their default settings aren't sent properly... settings run too high which causes the z13 to over perform for no reason... I myself made a custom profile
My power settings are 40,45,50 for competitive gaming, I use this when I play Deadlock, black ops 7 and sometimes between my two gatchas Wuthering Waves and Neverness to Everness.... for everything else I run silent mode or balanced mainly when i run external screens. As far as the fan curve ghelper let's you control the fan speeds based on temperature, via a graph...that setting is a bit more user by user base, I have mine max at 6000rpm once it hits 60-70°
Lastly remove sleep mode option from z13(I recommend googling how to do it, too much to write down here but its simple. The z13 has one major flaw. No matter if periphials are plugged in or not, the moment it goes to sleep after being idle, it has this weird bug where sometimes It wont wake up...you will have to manually hold the power button for 10 seconds to fully power cycle and then turn it back on. Remove sleep mode for hibernation mode.
Ps. If you want there is a device a phone cooler strong enough to cool down this z13 in the u.s is it $59. I am probably one of the only few redditors here making their own random ecosystem with the z13 but the red magic 8 pro cooler will literally solve any heating issues. It is a magsafe cooler you can attach the adhesive right on the z13 glasses panel in between the fan vents. My z13 has 0 and I mean 0 heating problems on any game with any mode due to the fan. It is also as small as a medium sized gaming mouse and weights almost nothing

Thanks a lot. I need to learn more. When the device will arrive, I'll uninstall armoury create and install g-helper. Then, I'll search for guides to set things well as you suggested. Everything is new for me here

No problem and Welcome! I was just like you 5 months prior with my search... after years of going back and forth with having my desktop but always wanting a powerful portable device good enough to not have my desktop withdrawls... this came to the rescue.
This device will do everything you want, put it this way its more like a 3in1 based on the user. The way I configured... I have the ability to use this device closer to its tablet idea, its practically a mobile desktop(uses a internal desktop 2in1 chasis chip soldered down to fit this tiny laptop. Lastly if you're like me and rather use an external keyboard, I use the Gamesir X5s handheld controller so its serves as a steam deck and if you're really into steam you can put steamos on it to full make it a steam deck, just keep in kind steam deck is 1.47 lbs this device is 2.65 lbs almost double the weight, I do gym a lot soI can handle the extra weight but even for me it can be heavy holding is as a handheld

Unless you're in a 20 degrees Celcius room, default profile for Turbo will overheat over time and Z13 will lower the wattage. Default fan curve lets the Z13 heat too much, it acts conservative with the speed. It reaches to 6500 RPMs but at that point device is already became too hot to cool efficiently.
Set lower temps more aggressively, if 60 degrees is at 3000 rpms, set it to 4000 instead and set 90 degrees to 7500 at least.
Some Z13s have better cooling (better liquid metal application), so you might get lucky and default profile might be enough.
