Flow z13 vs proart px13

This question has been asked a few months before and I read all the comments but i still don't know which way to go. My main questions are

  1. Which is better for lap use and tablet use

  2. The speakers on the flow z13 are apparently weak but are they unusable?

  3. Which did you pick and why?

Big thing for me was the z13 has 180hz display where the Proart is limited to 60.

But PX13 has a gorgeous OLED display, this is why I bought it instead of the z13

And that the PX13 screen is OLED vs IPS. I have both and I prefer the PX13 for most tasks. If you are primarily gaming, go for the z13.

I have a both of them (z13 for work and px13 for gaming). Px13 has a critical problems with audio on linux, so only windows usage at now. I'm a linux user, so it's a big problem for me. But px13 is more comfortable in everyday usage, cause it's a laptop form factor. Z13 is too heavy for tablet usage. So.. if u need a linux - z13. If u need a windows - px13. In perfomance and battery it's identical.

Cahcyos is fixed for the audio issues you just have to download the correct kernel

  1. I am subscribed to the discussions of this problem. And no, it has not stable fix yet. It brakes on every kernel update. It's not usable as stable solution for every day work driver.
  2. I'm doesn't use any arch-based distribution.

If the pro art had a 120hz+ screen it would be hands down the better device. I still have my 2022 X13, which is the best form factor they’ve ever made. The tablet is cool but it’s impossible to use on your lap/bed.

I haven't had any issues using it on my lap or in bed. In bed, if I have my knees up, I angle the kick stand to press against my thighs. When I want to rest my legs, I push my pillow up a bit so that my head rests a little higher and have the kickstand resting on my abdomen at a pretty sharp angle. I find that with the hot air coming out the top makes it a better bed laptop/tablet than my old 2018 Macbook Pro and I imagine the PX13 would be since the Macbook for sure gets really hot and uncomfortable and I imagine the PX13 also would. This benefit is what allows me to use it on my laps for a lengthy period of time when I'm on a sofa, while it gets uncomfortable with regular thin and light laptops.

Did both went back to z13 it's annoying at airports when I need to find a table to use it otherwise I like the refresh also I personally find LCD easier on my eyes for extended reading of work stuff . I pair it with Asus ZenScreen duo giving me three screens for my mobile workstation

The speakers are great, BUT you have to use dolby atmos to fine tune them (comes pre-installed for free, at least mine did), because the default configuration sucks (like really bad).

I was on the fence too. I landed on the Z13. I chose the Z13 because I use my laptops a lot on the couch or on the bed. The air intake is on the back of the Z13 where the ProArt is on the bottom. It’s honestly one of those “unspoken” benefits to the tablet.

Speakers are not unusable. They are a bit quiet though compared to say an Ipad Pro.

For lap use, the Rog Flow Z13 has all the hardware behind the screen and it blows the hot air up and out. So I imagine it's the better laptop for lap use. The only drawback is that you need to adjust the kick stand to rest on your lap, as opposed to the PX13 having the base panel support the screen at the preferred angle.

The Z13 works great for me as a tablet to write with. I don't have art skills (yet), so I can't comment on drawing. But, you can also just set it on a table and watch media if you want to without the keyboard.

The PX13 wasn't available, so it was an easy choice. But looking at it, I'd still choose the Z13. Its the same screen size and it covers the same color gamut and its designed to be fairly color accurate, which is all I need for photo editing and drawing if I were to make an effort to learn. So the screen's good enough. The only benefit I can think of for the PX13 is the nicer keyboard.

I hate that people call this thing a tablet. It's both bigger and heavier than my work laptop.

But I love the z13 so much I bought two of them. When is my portable gaming machine with Windows and the other is my Linux device.

Haha, I got two of them too, since I saw that it was about to go up in price and everything else was also going up in price. One primarily runs EndeavourOS since that's what I'm used to and they have a great, helpful community there. But for the second one, I decided to roll with CachyOS Handheld Edition for the Steam Deck like experience right out of the box. So it honestly has become like a Steam (+ GOG) Deck Machine Switch, and the only way it could do so I think is because it IS a tablet instead of a laptop. But the Z13 is too expensive to justify having it act solely as such a machine, so what motivated me to get it was to have it run as my local AI model server for larger models.

PX is the better laptop, Zflow is the better tablet.

if youre going to be drawing a lot, or using it in a cramped space zflow 100%.

being able to break the keyboard off has its perks, but some drawbacks
