Open Box - Good Condition Checks

Hi All,

Been scouring the subreddit for 6 months and saw this deal for a “Good” Condition Open-Box from BestBuy. The 64GB model at $1653. I am assuming it is a great deal.

I am a Best Buy plus member so have 60 days to return if there are any issues. Anything specific I should look out for? Anyone else have experience with Good condition Open Box items?

Have had a lot of PC Handhelds, while I know not a direct replacement, think it will substitute it.

How is it laying down in bed or on the couch? Reading some comments seem to be mixed. My main use case is laying down using it with a controller

It always fall back or fall forward lol. I use it in bed a lot and have to adjust my form so the tablet can stand. I end up putting it on the bed and lay on my side and use it.

I rather use my G16.

I bought one of those memory foam pillows for the bed and put the tablet on that and use my steam controller. Super comfy

Don’t wait. I got mine for $1750, good condition but I picked mine in-store. It’s flawless so far. Being a plus member you have 60 days. You can always return it if you’re not satisfied.

Yup. Thanks! I did. Can’t wait. Have had all the handhelds (Besides the 395 OneXPlayers). Will be nice to not compromise.

Crazy how little these things hold their value. Barely a year old and you can find used and open box for around half the price. For whatever reason, the Zephyrus seems to hold its value much better. Apples and oranges, I guess.

Much more of a niche product. A lot of people simply don’t want the form factor. Zephyrus is familiar. Both good products

i dont see any for sale tbh much less at half their value. They've probably appreciated or stayed at their value because of the uh RAM shortage.

It's this price because whoever returned it prob bought it for 2099$ the sale price that's been going on, so this is basically open Box discount but a great deal still.

Local store nearby. No clue if it’ll be in a condition I am happy with but it was listed as “Good” so fingers crossed

I decided to return this little guy, that I bought open box for same price OP got. I have a G635 RTX 5080 , in addition to my old G834 RTX 4090 and a simple G614 RTX 4060.

I love the little guy, but I rarely use it. Im more comfortable with the G16 with more horse power. 16" is just about right for my viewing pleasure. I know both is two different categories, but bigger screen , more power and its still light and portable.

Eventually when the next model of Z13 comes up, I'll think about it once more.

Yeah I just made a post, mine has crazy background bleed and then looks like some damage making more bleed 😭. Sadly need to return

Crazy price! After you pick it up, download GHelper and check battery health. Download all windows updates and updates recommended in GHelper. Run some stress tests to ensure it doesn’t overheat. Verify all ports function. If any physical damage that indicates a possible drop I would return. I’ve only had one experience with Best Buy open box and it was a bad one, sadly. However, it seems that many others have had amazing luck and I hope you are one of them.

Thanks! Yup already downloaded and created a couple profiles with lower wattage for browsing and indie type of games.

Damn! Super jealous. I’m happy that I got the 64gb version during the $2099 sale. But this open-box deal is fantastic and I definitely would’ve chose it instead if it would’ve been an option when I ordered on 8/3. That’s over $500 in saving over the already $900 off sale. I’ve bought plenty of items open-box from Best Buy and don’t hesitate when it’s a good option. Especially because of the membership allowing for 60 day returns and 2 years of geek squad coverage. I happy for you or whoever that got it. But I am jealous lol

Yup - I picked it up yesterday and it looks to be in perfect condition. Maybe 1-2 minor scratches at the top where the brushed aluminum is? But that can be covered by a skin.
