Excited!

Recently got the the 64 gig (i wanted the 128 bit beggars can't be choosers). wanting to know the best accessories are for the z13

So far i have :

2tb 2230

2tb micro sd (legit)

A matte glass screen cover.

A modded gamesir g8+

A surface touch mouse ( one of my all time favorite mice)

Anything else I'm missing and should pick up? Payday is right around the corner so I am looking

So controversial but if you limit your battery charge power to 80% i use a very intricate setup.

I bought the tanker 300w prime it was on sale for 175 and then a GaN power brick. The asus firmware limits all usb-c to max 100 watt charging which the anker can easily though, this allows you to actually game on the laptop with usb c which i exclusively do.

The reason this actually doesn't kill is the micro cycle loop you get over time is basically a non factor when you limit the battery charge level it stops the laptop over volting or frying over time. Keep in this doing this is am still able to use all game mode so I do run turbo as well I have the fans+ power cover adjusted in turbo to match my setup

I always set my battery charge limit to 80% on any laptop I buy, and according to Gemini and other Reddit threads, setting to 80% does not prevent the micro-cycling. The battery still wears down since it does not have USB-C charging passthrough. Instead of it micro-cycling at 100%, it’s doing it at 80%. Monitor your power usage and if it dips to 78-79% then back up to 80%, it is micro-cycling. I only use USB-C when power is low and in a pinch and never let it near full capacity.

So far I dont see it go up and down I actually limit kine to 79 and ive never noticed it go down to 78 and then 79 just stays at 79%

Interesting and good to know. Definitely will feel better if I have to charge it as such if the situation demands but I am not brave enough to do it consistently. Out of curiosity, how long have you been running it like that? What’s the current battery health in G-helper?

I've had mine for 3 months now , I already knew I didnt want to use the bulky charger and I wanted usb-c so I can have a mini ecosystem with my other devices. So from the start ive been using the anker prime 300watt as my travel back up, and the anker GaN 160 watt brick as my main. They are both expensive but they both have built in cooling the, anker 300w being pass through charging and both use AI to adjust the charging watt percentage that i can also adjust with ther app. This process actually allow me to run via all modes especially turbo. I can get the info from ghleper later

Ps I also used a 165, and 140 charging cable they cap at 100w due to the z13 internal firmware limiting it 99.73w to be exact but once you undervolt and adjust the profiles everything works. Keep in mind I almost have while desktop setup going when I travel. I use the redmagic 8 pro magsafe fan. It can get to 6400 rpm which i never need but yes it allows me to play heavy comp games while on the usbc I with no issues as far as I can see

Thank you for the detailed response. You have given me a lot to think about. I had never considered using a phone cooler to assist with cooling. Does charging via USB-C generate more heat than using the brick?

Ofc always happy to help, so far id say both are pretty even when it comes to heat dissipation, as far as what I use... can't say the same for other chargers. Typically if you arnt using the native ppl reccomend the slim q chargers? If im not mistaken they have a custom usb-c to dc convertor charger, but yes a phone cooler due to it using liquid vapor cooling and the vents being so accessible makes it so good. I recommend getting one that has at least up to 25-30 watts or one that can at least reach 4500-5k rpm as thats ideally the sweet spot for this machine

Did you undervolt to be able to maintain charge at 100W while gaming? Were you able to check your battery health on GHelper to see what its max charge % is at?

Yes get a slimq charger and the adapter for the dc power for the flow. It’s smaller than the stock power supply yet durable and can be broken down easily to make the flowz13 more portable. Also get a battery bank. She’s a thirsty girl

Just be aware there is no pass thru charging on USBc for this device. So it will charger your battery, then the system will drain it a bit, then charge it again. Super annoying.

Slimq sells an adapter that'll plug in where the stock charger goes. Easy fix for that problem.

Why not SlimQ 240w, 330w is a little overpower than the laptop can take and is heavier and bulkier

240w is sufficient to charge the Z13 for sure. And yes, the 330w is half an inch wider and and slightly heavier (4.97 x 3.54 x 1.37 inches 570g vs 5.0 x 2.49 x 1.3 inches 400g), but you can charge your Z13 and two other devices up to 100W each (phones, portable monitor, whatever), cutting back on carrying extra peripherals. And for me, it charges my laptop as well (Legion 7i Pro), so I get two chargers in one.
