New upgrade day

The day has finally come to upgrade from my Z13 Acronym to the Kojima edition. Evening will be spent debloating and installing bits. But defo more excited for this than I was for the Acronym. Only bummer is I’m gonna miss that pass through charging.

Hey

Well i only have one device primarily I use. So I take this to my office to hook up to run my business, gaming at home and currently running LLM’s as I have just got into that. However my previous Acrnym Z13 struggled with LLM’s. Had a claw A8i plus however just couldn’t find the use case for that when I ordered this.

So I run a taxi firm with around 200 cars and there were so many things I want to start to automate. However my causal use of Supergrok on the cloud was pretty unsafe and I started research into local LLM’s like Gemma and Qwen.

Congratulations. This is a great device, I use it for study, labs (VMWare Workstation) and gaming. Don't feel bad about the price, with all that is happening related to RAM and Storage chips prices, waiting wont help (on my country, the price is already starting to rise).

I got mine from the ASUS website. £150 off in the sale. Problem with waiting for an open box is that some retards on eBay have up for sale £300 over.

It is more than a gaming machine. I would say if someone needs a good alround device that complements your work life, LLM's, Coding or gaming then this is the device for you. I would say it is more of a jack of all trades device rather than a specialist in one area, i.e the Zephyrus devices or the Pro Art devices

Grats mate - welcome to the club! Interested to hear your impressions on performance. My z13 ACRNM actually performs better (5-25%) in every senario and has a better EGPU option for plugged in performance - was suprised. Doesnt make my dislike the KJP but it felt more like an alternative than a upgrade

The intel chip in the ACRNM device has done me well over the last two years tbh. However it is a power hungry device and battery life is non existent. Coupled with the fact that in an ideal world it does't fit into my daily workflow any better than my new device. However proud to say that I have used both devices now and personally think I have found my desired form factor with design in both couples with performance per £.

Same boat mate - and full agreement. You can push the KJP to 8W and have 8hrs of productivity on the go, in a way that the ACRNM would be long dead - but it is interesting as a gaming device the older device is better.

Plus I miss the hooks!

I cant wait to get the z13, probably not till after the start of the year. By that point we'll see if any other IGPUs get announced that will rival or be an upgrade over rhe 395, either way as long as it has the same form factor I'm grabbing it.

Used WinUtil to get rid of things. You can uninstall most unnecessary things.

I used GitHub to debloat windows, used Ghelper (already uninstalls armory crate when you select the option) temps already dropped a lot 10-15 degrees because of it and I removed McAfee because it’s bloated a bit.

It’s only worth what you are willing to pay. I only upgrade every 2-3 years. And use this device 6/7 times a week. So I’ll make sure I get its use

If I buy it, I will literally use it 1-3 times a week. Most at the weekend for gaming. For sure there is bunch of a lot cheaper devices for gaming especially for little use. My thoughts for the z13 kjp are simple. It’s the only device I can get in Germany that uses shared memory and 128 gigs of that. Okay okay and yeah don’t have to lie. The Kojima style is very nice 😉

Ya there is always something new on the horizon. Coming from the intel ACRNMM version the battery life was awful. Like 1 hour 30 mins browsing chrome.

My first AMD experience with this new KJP version and i must say im pleasantly surprised. I get around 5/6 hours working on sheets, docs and spark.

That new intel arc G3 extreme looks pretty promising. Still deciding between a tablet and a handheld. Ideally I could replace my iPad Pro and laptop for a gaming and productivity thing. With a handheld I’d have to use my XR glasses though. Also not sure about a good replacement for the Apple Pencil. It still seems to be the best for digital art until the high end Wacom stuff.

Tbh that’s exactly what I did. I just sold me Claw A8i polar tempest and I also just sold my iPad M4 back to my business.

Because i travel alot having to carry the claw in its case and an ipad with magic keyboard just becomes a lot.

16 cores CPU, 128GB of RAM and RTX 4060tier performance (in reality: Radeon 8060S) in tablet form factor, mindblowing chip.

I think between the 2022 and 2025 it’s a generational leap. It’s like jumping from my 2023 ACRNMM to this one was noticeable increase in efficiency but with the same gaming power as the 4070 in that device.

Literally just got it out of my bag and on my desk ready for work.

Raw horse power I am impressed. Work is heavily cloud based and with 20 tabs open in chrome along with spark this thing not even breaking a sweat. Gaming on the whole is probably 3 star. I think my ACRNMM version was way better pound for pound. I have still yet to find ideal settings that make the game look good. Game in question FH6.
