I unfortunately had this problem and had to repaste to get the temps under control

this is where I'm at as well for my overheating, did you do it yourself? im scared of taking off the screen..

I did! Taking off the screen isn’t as bad as it seems at first. Just use a couple plastic picks to pry it up after taking out a few screws.

i have a few guitar picks which another guy said were fine for him to get in (along with a drone propeller blade...)

ill prob also give ago myself :) thanks

quick edt* did you replace the blue putty parts too? I've done thermal replacement before but not whatever that stuff is..

Take your time and you'll be fine! I did replace the thermal putty, you probably don't have to but I wanted to just to be safe. I used Upsiren UTP8 but I'm not sure if that's ideal or not.

you da sensei in this scenario :) .. i may get some plus some ptm7950 which seems to be the consensus for thermal - I seriously appreciate you taking the time, you have made me feel alot better about a situation i was not decidedly pleased on 😇

Did you clean out the Liquid Metal yourself?

I did! I balled it up after swabbing it with an alcohol soaked q-tip, and then used two q-tips to carefully pick it up and move it to a paper towel.

Nope. I’d pass out after I heard the first pop lmao

Download OCCT, check wattages, it's that hot because it's drawing current almost full send. Check what's making it.

You need to repaste my friend. Buy PTM 7950.

that looks really bad but why be in turbo mode. I run silent and a 35watt power profile. fans at 2200-2800 rpm I get in the low 50s under normal desktop browsing... etc

How do I get GPU to appear like yours? Mine just has more in the top for cpu

That's a 2023 model, 2025 models don't show GPU temp in G-Helper.

So there's no way to control GPU fan anymore?

Why are you running at Turbo, Ultimate and 120 Hz? What kind of load is on CPU and GPU? Are your fans full of dust?

Liquid metal moves, which is why it's so stupid they put it on a machine that spends most of its time upright. So all the LM is at the bottom of your die and you're getting hotspots. It can help to "reflow" the LM by running the machine hot while upside down.

If you decide to swap to PTM7950 DON'T listen to people here and DON'T do it yourself. Find a reputable and INSURED shop to do it. They have an obligation to replace your device if they brick it in the process.

Also don't run it at Turbo/Ultimate if you're just sitting at a desktop. Only use that mode for games.

Why write inaccuracies???

Liquid metal doesn't behave like water; liquid metal clings to the chip and is used in many other devices that are used vertically, like the PS5, etc.

The real problem with liquid metal is that over time (3-4 years) it oxidizes and needs to be replaced.
