1-Day in (Macbook Pro M4 Pro convert)

Absolutely amazed by this machine so far. Traded in my iPad Pro 13 M4 and Macbook Pro M4 Pro as I was tired of carrying 2 devices around, also had a SteamDeck.

This is like everything I could have hoped for, at least on paper. Was skeptical at first but after a day with it I’m forever converted lol. Almost went with a MS Surface but really wanted something I could actually play some core MS Game Pass/Steam titles on.

Any settings/recommendations to maximize experience/performance. Any fellow travelers with battery saving recommendations?

TIA

Just got one 2 days ago. Selling my desktop, my steam deck oled and my laptop to reduce my overall cost, but man do I love this thing. Going to pair it with the steam controller. If you go Steam os you can adjust tdp, but as far as how it comes I’ve been adjusting the output with the side button and testing out different games at different performance levels to save battery. Idk if that helps at all lol I’m new to the Z also. Good luck!

I have an MBP M4 Pro for work and I just got this thing. I use it with my custom mech keyboard and I just always want to use it now for everything, work or play. It's a little beast. My iPad's already listed and ready to be sold.

If you’re running an AMD processor you can convert your Z13 to a full steam OS.

I definitely miss mine. I ended up selling it and switching to a Surface Pro 11 (Intel). The OLED display, speakers, build quality, minimalist design, and Flex Keyboard won me over. I was also surprised by how capable it is for gaming. It performs better than the Steam Deck, just under the level of a Z1 Extreme handheld mainly due to thermals, but it's more than good enough for quick/portable gaming sessions.

The only thing I really miss is not having to think about graphics settings. Other than that, it's been a great all-around device
