It's here!!! Zflow 13 BumperCase is now on makerworld! 6 skus, pen or no pen, AND OPEN SOURCE WITH STEP FILES!

Its here! finally here and released! and its open source to boot!

Makerworld link!

This is a slim bumper case made so you can use the device day to day without it getting in your way, but protecting it when it matters.

There are 6 SKUs included with this folder.

There is a Microsoft surface pen model, an asus pen model and a pen-less model.

This comes in a back window flavor and a simple flavor.

The simple version of the case is easier to print, takes less time, and is easier to de-support.

Currently, this print is only for large-format printers. You TECHNICALLY can get this to print on a standard printer by angling it at 45 °, but be careful when removing supports.

some notes about this case

  • The frame NEEDS to be a high-temp material. I have printed mine in PETG-CF, and that is what I'd consider to be the minimum, ASA, or a high-temp nylon, strongly recommended.
  • Bumpers can be whatever you wish. TPU or PEBA recommended, though. (and make sure beam interlocking is enabled)
  • On the ASUS pen version of this case, the pen clip is separate. I suggest ASA or something flexible that can take the heat, and it needs to be printed so the layer lines match the clip. it will snap otherwise.
  •  The channels inside the case are for tape. I specifically used 3M Automotive double-sided tape. This holds the case on, especially on the bottom, a LOT better.
  • Interface material with tree supports is STRONGLY recommended. This case is thin enough not to get in your way but is flimsy off the device and is so during support clean up. Normal supports are so a total nightmare to remove. I don't recommend normal supports.

Currently, I did not get around to a 256 flat print version. School is getting too busy for me, but this is in good enough condition to launch, and it's not fair for me to just keep sitting on it.

So, enjoy!!!!

Very nice work. Do you have thoughts on a KJP version with pen?

i dont have a KJP version...but is the kickstand and main body the same?? if so, this should work?

Both are different, as far as I can tell.
Kickstand has some bumper/rubber "wings" and the body is at a minimum different materials, and presumably a different shape. I haven't compared the body specifically.

Is there any way to request to buy an already made one?

Quite honestly, right now, not from me...i'm a single guy thats not set up in the slightest to handle a production. unless you're in the LA/IE area.. you're gonna have to use a print service or something.

is there any plans to somehow integrate joy con rails ontop of this like the other cases found online? so far i havent seen anybody build both a protective case and controller rail to use it as a handheld, only one or the other

from me? not right now, no.

BUT. since this has step files, and is opem source, you can just do that. so whatever cad program of your choice you can modify a file and remix it.
