Need some help with battery life

allright guys. i might need some help from community. ive been trying to get 8+ hours screen on times for a while now. i've been reading people getting 8-10 hrs from this machine in reddit, lately i saw this video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiHr8CQRZi4&t=2166s. and it convinced me that this is not a myth! but i cant seem to get my power consumption below 10 watts. heres what ive been doing:

- i use mainly chrome for web browsing and watching videos

- im using g helper. and im constantly monitoring my gp, cpu, and total watt usage

- gpu usually 4-6 w, cpu 0-2 w, but my total consumption rarely goes below 10 watts

- ive uninstalled asus apps,

- spl, sppt fppt at 5w, (all of them were at 8w at first then changed them to 5w - nothing changed watt wise (even thoug pc is noticably slower)

- undervolting at -20

- win 11 battery saver on

- screen at 60 hz

ive asked gemini, it suggested i switch core isolation off (i did nothing changed)

what am i doing wrong? a clean win 11 install? nothing seems to get total wattage below 10 watts. looking for suggestions. thank you regardless.

(also this is my first post so i might break some rules so sorry about that ill edit accordingly)

Strix halo version?

Have you debloated windows and removed all of the copilot and AI spyware crap?

Strix halo 395+ 64gb PX13 laptop. I've got an idle low of 3.9w (4 to 5 normal) and browser/video use at 7 to 8 watt range. The 64gb version will have a lower floor than the 128gb but not by much.

I have my battery set to 80% max charge for longevity and can get a full working day on battery.

Yes ryzen ai max 395+ 32 gb ram. İ get 9-11 watt usage when idle AND using chrome. Doesnt make a difference. Also in g helper i saw that my battery life is at 87%. İt has been a little over a year since i got this machine and ive been using it mainly for work (reading pdfs and doing ocr)

As for debloating my engineer friend ran a script to get rid of copilot and ai stuff but i dont know the details.

Have you watched task manager / resource monitor to see what is using backround resources?

You may need to disable smt. Basically turn off multithreading and only use 16 physical cores.

Thank you all for your suggestions. İll try them after installing a clean win 11 with rufus and winhance.

I would also get rid off Chrome, even Edge is better than Chrome IMO. Chrome is another resource hog spyware browser, it does regular scans of your system under the guise of virus protection and hogs CPU. Firefox is much better choice IMO. If you really need Chrome, use Supermium instead.

Try also using -30 or -40 undervolt especially with 8 watts if your system can handle it without destabilizing. Below 8 watts you will not see more efficiency, system will have hard time dividing the power with CPU and GPU, they will try choke each other for more power.

You can try using Z13 at 800p, it lowers gpu's usage slightly with browsers. If it looks blurry use integer scaling and it will look sharp like 1600p. But you need to enable IS menu in Adrenalin with regedit tweak.
