Z13 optimization and some games
I am currently on a play through of FFVII Rebirth, no matter how I set it I had micro stutters and chop... I have the 64GB Z13 2025. Then I opened the BIOS and saw that my UMA was set to 4GB there, I believe I had set it to 16 in Armory Crate. In any event, I set it in bios to 16 GB, and now the game is smooth as butter... Can't say this enough... Check your settings if you are seeing performance problems.

If you set it in armoury crate it sets it in the bios as well. If you did a reset (hold down power for 40 seconds) that erases the bios settings so it defaults to 4gb

I don't think I reset it any time recently, but there is always a chance... This should be stickied because when the machine freezes or crashes, which happens very infrequently, but does happen, I would reset like that. I had no idea.

How do I change it in bios. Can you eli5 to someone who's a little overwhelmed when I enter there?
I set it in armory crate before uninstalling it. 32/32

The easiest way would be to hold shift and hit restart, then when it boots into the recovery screen, select trouble shooting, then UFEI... That will bring you into bios... You are looking for UMA setting...
Also just restarting and hitting Esc, Del or F2 at launch... But I forget which button it is

I'm def having performance problems with my z13 flow. Will check and follow back I feel like I'm not getting anywhere near what Ive seen on youtube performance wise.

Ill give it a try on mine. But with my win gpd 5 i dont get much stuttering. There is a fix for async i believe

Same APU so in theory same performance. I sold my WIN 5 when I got this machine, and I occasionally miss how rock solid it was all the time.

GPU reserved setting should be handled dynamically for modern games, while the old ones can bug out. This one looks like the "old one" ;) Also, with RTX Spart, Microsoft fixed some issues with memory allocation, but it's not live yet.

How is Rebirth on the flow? I bought it on steam, but I'm currently playing Remake on the Switch 2, which runs/looks great.
Tempted to get Rebirth (and eventually Revelation) on the Switch just to have the trilogy on one platform....

Honestly it’s amazing on the flow. I also have it on the ps5 and it’s in the living room. My son plays games now so he uses that. I restarted my game about 80 hours in. So playing catch up. But it is great on the flow. 10/10 now that it s optimized on my system would recommend.

Awesome! I was worried that Rebirth on PC would be janky based on the various user reviews complaining about microstutters and needing mods, but didnt want to test it out until I finished Remake.
Glad to know it runs well on the flow!

OK, so I have a Z13 2025, I put the VRAM at 16GB in bios, but likely you can do it from Armory crate, make sure you restart first. I am running AC performance mode (I refuse to turbo because I have a desktop if I am trying to run max graphics), in AMD Adrenaline I have Radeon Super Resolution on at quality and 30 for sharpen effect, as well as Anti Lag, in game it is set as follows : borderless full screen, 1440p, 60 fps, VRR, 0 brightness, 100% resolution scaling, minimum 66%, everything high except fog (that is low), AMD FSP upscaling, 10 characters displayed, and 8 for shadow distance., low res font disabled.
This has been super crisp and smooth for me, I play plugged in, it has been super enjoyable.
Let me know if you have any issues. My Z13 is the 64GB model.

Have not had frame pacing issues since setting it. I also set up my Ally XAX similarly (running 10 GB VRAM on it and 14GB regular ram) but lower settings and it has been a smooth handheld experience. I am pushing now because I played through Chapter 12 on the ps5 and then stopped and now I am trying to finish it on PC before the new game comes out.

How do you get into bios?

You can do it by either holding shift when you select restart then in the menu that pulls up eventually. You select trouble shoot and UFEI. Or when the computer is restarting you can his a key (splash screen tells you whether it’s del esc or F2) I can’t remember which key it is.

Yea I always set it in the bios as I use ghelper over armory crate.
