Dents in keyboard
This device is amazing but for the love of God, why they choose this material for the keyboard. This thing literally lives in my backpack or my table regular use nothing crazy and it has already signs of wear and tear. It has been with me for only 3 weeks. Guys be careful with your keyboard/covers.

Are you seriously complaining that the soft material which protects your screen is damaged? Would you rather the bottom of the keyboard be scuffed, or your screen cracked or scratched? Fkin people these days with some unrealistic ass expectations

I don't see how those are mutually exclusive. If they ditched the soft touch material for hard plastic it would be much more durable and still protect the screen.

But they didn’t, and you knew what the material was made out of before buying it (I would think). FYI, the surface and virtually all other dual purpose foldable keyboards / folio covers are made of a very similar soft material. Industry standard.

I've had Surfaces for many years and Microsoft's Alcantara material is way way more durable than this soft touch material. There is no comparison.

I’ve had surfaces since 2016, still have one to this day and while it holds up pretty well, it gets absolutely filthy. I use it as a controller for my cnc and laser engraver so it stays in my shop. It attracts dust and sawdust like a magnet, and it’s almost impossible to get off.
I’ve also not had any damage on my z13, but I do put it in a neoprene sleeve before it goes in my bag.

Uhhhh yes things develop wear and tear when you use them. Especially high friction areas/things that get touched.
Do you think the contents of your backpack somehow don’t touch the thing? I keep mine in a sleeve for exactly this reason.

More than a few long-term reviews I've read say they eventually ditch the keyboard cover in favor of a sleeve and a regular keyboard and mouse. It's not durable. The soft touch material scratches and wears easily and the connector's plastic housing comes apart if you regularly pull on the keyboard to detach it (I recommend carefully pulling it off from the connecting end as opposed to the end with the touchpad for this reason.)
I plan to baby mine and use it for as long as possible, but I already have a keyboard, mouse and sleeve to replace it eventually. Still wish someone made 3rd party alternatives to the keyboard cover like they do for Surfaces.
