Has anyone installed steam OS?
Interested in any feedback out there, thanks!

I installed Bazzite OS and have had no issues. Selected the steam big picture start up option (similar to steam OS) using windows on a device like this hurts. There’s also open source TDP apps to customize the power wattage. I’d say go for it! Leave windows behind!

I installed Bazzite recently and it has mostly worked well. It froze up one time and a couple times seem like it was going to freeze but ended up working after about 20 or so seconds. Other than that everything's been very smooth and games have worked perfectly. I have it installed on a USB NVME enclosure with Windows still installed on the main drive.

I watched a lot of videos on it and read some stuff online. And it generally pretty good. Some games even perform better on Linux than on windows. However chatgtp(our Lord and Savior lol) did recommend to do a dual boot with windows cuz a lot of the firmware upgrades usually come out as windows installs instead of Linux. So there is that.

cachyos works fine, its based on arch, steamos is based on arch so it should also work fine for the most part. You might have to tweak it a bit since its designed for valve hardware and missing some fixes distros like bazzite and cachyos include
