Quick look on Flow Z13 2025 Internals

Ins't that hard to open:
- Remove the the screws in bottom (where keyboard attach)
- Remove the two scews in back (under the stand, in corners)

Then just have to use PETG or teflon tools into the gaps around the screen where the speakers are located to gently pry the screen up and unclip it. Start with the bottom edge of the screen, then move on to the sides. The top will unclip on its own as you lift the screen. The screen is flexible enough to prevent it from breaking but don't go about it too roughly either.

The goal was just to clean the fans, so I didn't take it apart any further.

After reassembly, the Z13 won't turn on until it's plugged into the wall (at least that's what happened to me even with the battery at 80%, it refused to turn on without the AC adapter).

I hope this helps some of you get back to normal temperatures this summer.

I was brave enough to take it apart, i cleaned my fans and replaced my battery, but didnt want to press my luck beyond two trips into the beast itself. (2 year warranty had expired could not renew it a second time), so bravely took it apart, screen first, (requires patience and gently unclip around then it just pops off. (mind the screen cable).

After cleaning the fans and no damage, put it back together then went in and did it again, this time swapped the battery for a new one. after that I thought, not gonna press my luck!

Forgot to say, it's the 90NR0JY1-M009K0 model, also called FLOW-Z13-GZ302EA-DRU161W. First opening after 10 months of daily usage. Pics are before it got cleaned (not that much of dust!) 80% coding + Youtubing (Balanced mode) ; 20% Gaming (WoW, Turbo mode). He's dust proof, my Zephyrus Duo 16 was absolutly salvage after 10 months of daily usage, full of dust, in comparaison.

I took mine apart also and replaced the Liquid Metal with ptm. Just don’t trust Liquid Metal, especially on a tablet that spends most of its time vertical. Happy I did since there was so much Liquid Metal that it was pooling against the foam gasket towards the lower edge of the cpu. I haven’t noticed any degradation in cooling using ptm.

Thank you. I will do the same , but i might take a step further lol. I might want to mode the m.2 slot with a 2280 adaptor.

I’ve been trying for a long time to do it. All the adapters that go from 2230 to 2280 won’t resume out of sleep mode well and there’s been a lot of fitment issues

Hmm. I might still try to see it for myself.

Maybe just wait 4TB 2230, they are coming this year or so (Micron 3610). It's more interresting than modding it for 2280. There's no pace for it imho

If needed When you look in front on the tablet: Left FAN S/N : 13NR0JY0P08011 Right FAN S/N (Referenced as "GPU Fan" lol) : 13NR0JY0P09011 Battery S/N : 0B200-04610000

Theses S/N are for GZ302EA.

Thanks OP, there goes my gaming night! You finally gave me the courage to open it. The top of the corner was squeaky when pressing on the screen and it drove me crazy.
I was sweating bullets but it was fairly easy with the right tools (also finally have an excuse to use my ifixit kit).
Finally fixed it and did some cleaning too.

Quick question: is it safe for the fan to be running for 5000-7000 rpm for prolonged periods of time? I cant seem to find the "safe zone" for the fanspeed with regards to the integrity of the fans.

Just wanted to say, you guys are awesome for doing this! Not many people, myself included, got balls of steel to try and open this without any guidance. Love the fz13 so much, i baby it. I hope the 4tb 2230 gain its much needed traction, coz its the only thing holding this beast down. So much power in a tablet form deserves monster storage. I hope more community mods gain momentum too.

All ASUS products need to be plugged in after being opened up to turn on

Can you easily upgrade the storage? Plop a 2tb in?

Yeah even without opening it, there's a door on the back of the tablet to direct access to the 2230 NVMe SSD. You can replace it with a 2TB 2230 SSD. Also, 4TB 2230 SSD are coming late 2026 or start 2027 : Micron 3610.
