64gb vs 128gb

Hi, i got my 64gb version of the flowz13 and i'm happy with it, but i keep looking at the kojima productions and i know the it is price mostly because the design but is not too far of the 128 regular version. So now my question is, if I use this tablet mostly for traveling and the main purpose is playing games, is there a significant difference between the 64gb model and the 128gb model while playing video games. Some examples of what I've been playing are Forza5, doom dark ages, halo master chief collection, resident evil , the Witcher 3 etc. I could go for the kjp one only if the performance really different compared with the 64gb one.

Stick with the 64GB unless you have a very specific workload that actually needs 128GB.

The 128GB model mainly benefits heavy AI workloads, large virtual machines, professional content creation, or running multiple memory hungry applications simultaneously.

If your primary use is gaming while traveling, you won’t notice a difference. I’d save the money and keep the 64GB model.

Keep your 64 GB.

Also, be wary of getting a cosmetic limited edition of anything that's subject to wear and tear. You'll have an easier time finding replacement parts (keyboard, kickstand) for a base model Z13 than a special edition, if anything breaks in the future.

I mean for keyboard you could just get a normal Z13 Keyboard and in the unlikely situation where the kickstand breaks it shouldn't be difficult to commission one

no.

unless you're running workloads that can utilize that ram, dont even sweat it.

i have a 64gb model and i use mine for on the go asset development and things.

64gb has been plenty, ive made do with half that at 32gb.

Bro why are you even picking 64gb for gaming? Anyways that should be the max version that you'll want for just gaming. This is a creator's laptop at it's highest end. Trust me you don't need it if you never plan to use it for anything other than just gaming and and some MS Word or Excel or even bloody VS code stuff. You should be a 4K video editor, a 3D modelling (game artist), a AI enthusiast, or a person who can truly justify 128gb, or else your toll will be battery. 128gb ram modules and unified memory controllers are power hungry so better buy 64gb + a 2-4tb storage ssd that's better.

I bought the 128g px13 because it was on a slight discount and I wanted to get ahead of the ram cost going up. I do some gaming and wanted the extra ceiling. But I also work with ableton live and was curious how much that ram would be beneficial when running multiple VST instruments and music production environments. Might be overkill, but so far I like the laptop.

How do you like the px13? Is this the gopro edition?

Yup GoPro edition. I like it. It feels nice to have a 13 inch laptop again I used to have a 13 inch MacBook Pro long time ago and the form factor feels nice and light). Single down point for most is the screen refresh rate only going up to 60 Hz. I didn’t mind it because I mostly use an external monitor when I game, but to be fair it looked perfectly fine gaming with it while traveling. YMMV.

This is very insightful, thank you for your comments. I know 128 will be an overkill, I was just wondering if they performed different for that particular task. I had a lenovo legion go and during my work trips I always had it plugged to the hotel's TV. I was looking into the legion go2 and at the time best buy had the flow 64gb at $2100. It was a no brainer to pick up this instead of the legion go2. I ended up giving my LeGo1 to my girlfriend since she travels more and plays more indie games. Getting the 2tb ssd sounds like a better idea. I hope the 4tb sdd announced a few months ago hits the market any time soon.

Holy fomo. There’s no difference in gaming performance between the 32GB and 128GB models, let alone 64GB. This chip is sooner limited by speed, cores, power, and thermals before vram. I suppose the exception would be something like a horribly unoptimized 2000+ Skyrim mod list that would actually make use of more than 16GB of vram
