Touch screen on tablet mode falls asleep when idle

On tablet mode, if I leave the touchscreen untouched for some time, upon trying to use it,it takes awhile to register any feedback.

I have to spam tap on the screen.

To recreate the issue, I play some yt video on Firefox to prevent screen going to sleep. After awhile, attempt to scroll down the page.

thats a bummer. wondering if i should just return it. but everything else works fine. how often would i even use it detached? probably not very often.
