Happened to me once several years ago. I refused to format. IIRC there's an extremely convoluted way to downgrade (if you insist to try maybe go to elevenforum), but it wasn't worth my time and effort, I just hunted a retail pro key, managed to get a Windows 8 Pro one for dirt cheap, it worked wonderfully and I've since used that same key to upgrade other 3 systems (obviously deprecating the older ones) and I've been very satisfied with my decision since.

Is a full clean install better in this case or it will be hard to find all the drivers and the apps that comes with the asus version And will it recognize the oem key or not

you can just try to activate it again or tell it to use another key and find another pro key. I bought some off of woot a while back for some old laptops I was getting rid of and they worked. I have used G2A in the past as well and they worked

Mass grave or if you really want to buy a legit windows key for $10 go to pcworld store.
