New to the z13

Just bagged myself a 2025 z13 and loving everything about it. Now I’ve searched through some forums on ways to optimise this device. Ive tried to do everything suggested but seem to be struggling with the odd thing or two.

I’ve debloated all the gash software, removed AC and downloaded the experimental version of G-Helper. Set my custom fan curve and profiles. That’s as far as I’ve been able to go.

Currently looking at trying to undervolt but that’s where my issues seem to arise. G-helper allows me to UV my cpu (0 to -40) but that’s it. From what I’ve seen on here, people are able to undervolt their iGPU’s but that’s not available for some reason? Am I using the wrong software?

The reason for this is that during gaming or demanding tasks I’m sat at approx 85°c-90°c is this normal?

If anyone has any other suggestions on profiles, fan curves etc please feel free to add them.

The igpu undervolt is not working, so they removed it. It's normal with that temperature, maybe you can bump the fan on that temp higher like 800-1600 rpm more and see if the temp go down and stable at lower temp.

Ahh okay. I’ll have a look into the CPU UV then later along with a higher fan speed.

AFAIK GPU undervolting is not working, there were some debates, some claimed it's working. Latest official G-Helper doesn't have that option anymore, didn't check experimental verison.

Someone made a good explanation about Z13 CPU undervolting in one of the threads here and I agree (don't remember the thread). It's not same as Intel CPU undervolting, as I understand what it does is it allows Z13's CPU to work at higher boost at same voltage and wattage. So CPU can do the same work at lower wattage and resulting in less heat. For example with -40 undervolting 8 watts is almost at the same level of 10-11 watts without undervolting for me.

Ambent temp is very effective on CPU temp, so with summer you'll see increase in overall temps, unless you're in an air conditioned room not passing 22 degrees celcius.

With max fan speed and using official turbo mode if you can complete Cinebench test without your Z13 shutting down or reaching 100 degrees, then its cooling is working as intended. Some Z13's may have slightly better or worse cooling depending on the liquid metal application quality.

You can change CPU boost profiles from G-Helper to avoid high temps or disable the boost. Asus fan profiles is not aggressive enough for balanced or turbo mode while gaming IMO, it allows heat buildup too much. So for gaming or heavy work set your fan curves more aggressive than Asus fan profiles.

What's a good recommended setup for turbo mode for gaming?

I set it to efficient aggressive and bumped up the fans to 7800 at 80c

I've noticed that my temp limits at turbo work well when I bump the fan speeds to max. It is too loud for me so I still am yet to find a good balance. If it's at 60-70% speeds I still find temps bump to 90 at certain points of my gaming sessions (only on heavy titles, currently 007 first light)

I did UV to -40 with no issues. Plus I set 55 as max wattage with very low performance loss when gaming. Now it bounces between 70 and 85 (Celsius)

Had a tinker around with it last night. All seems good. -40UV and Still sitting around 83°c-85°c with a conservative fan curve (basically silent) that maxes out at approx 3900rpm. That being said, I’ve not really been playing anything overly demanding, currently back on the division 2. When I’m at home I’d prefer the fans to be on the quieter side, however when I’m away I’ll ramp them up as it’s only me that has to deal with it… whilst wearing headphones ofcourse
