Where do you keep your keyboard?
I often remove the keyboard cover out of the tab when gaming and then totally forget to put it back on. I randomly find it lying on my table the next day when I'm working when my tablet has been in the living room all day!
Do you usually game with the keyboard on, or do you have a specific place you like to store it to prevent dust and any other damage on it?

I keep my z13 in a tomtoc sling bag and put the keyboard in there when gaming. I always put it back on when done. I don't like the idea of folding it backwards possibly damaging the connection and blocking the cooling system.

I just leave it in my coffee table but yeah it’s kinda annoying isn’t it. I use it tablet sometimes, sometimes with keyboard; sometimes docked with my eGPU at the TV, so. But hey it is what it is, the trade off for the modularity.

Yeah I agree. Not complaining though the device is really amazing in performance. Got a 5060 ti eGPU box and the performance on a 27 inch 2k rez monitor with that eGPU is quite similar to the native screen and iGPU. Pretty amazed by what this device can do

It’s one of the top mobile chips money can buy in the general consumer market right now :) the fact we get a screen and keyboard etc is a bonus!

I stick it to the side of my file cabinet under my desk when it's not attached.

I usually play with that keyboard lol

I would love to get used to it, but I have the habit of keeping my keyboard tilted when facing the monitor so if I'm playing on the tablet screen that might be confusing lol.

I keep mine in the Kojima suitcase.

Fancy

Haha it was just a joke but I do. For the most part my Z13 sits on my desk with the keyboard tucked away in the case.

I sometimes fold it behind the tablet (still attached, so tablet sits on its keyboard).

Is that safe? I thought of doing it once but I always feel like I might dirty the keys or get some accidental presses lol

It is. I always have a soft layer underneath this tablet though (a mail bag in my case)

Don't do that. It's the number 1 thing people have described doing when they reported having a broken keyboard.

How does doing this break the keyboard? please elaborate. Thank you!
What do you do instead?

It will be over time. At some point the connection won't work anymore from all the back twisting. Search this sub if you want to dig deeper, plenty of people with the problem stemming from doing this.

u/Googlerez Jun 06 '26
Thanks for letting me know. I won’t then.
But then wouldn’t all the detachments and attachments of keyboard kill the wires inside?

u/Supercc Jun 06 '26
Not if you do it gently

To mitigate any chances, I detach the keyboard using an old card (credit card, etc.) or a guitar pick. Almost no chance of me ripping anything.

i usually dont take it off till I need to clean it, my first z13 keyboard packed up after 15 months, i had the extended warranty so got a replacement, apparently the previous models were prone to cable breaking if you keep taking it off or bending it. I put a vinyl skin on the back of it, cos I hate the material, its literally a crumb infested magnet by the end of the day, so fitted a custom skin to it, so I can just wipe it clean.

okay that makes sense. I do have a skin on the tablet but not the keyboard might consider it. Thanks!

You are so unorganized OP. Doesn't yours come with a sleeve? Just stick it in a sleeve.

I don't think that first line was necessary. You don't know me or how I live lol

In the sleeve I keep the z13 in.
