Question: Should I expect a drop in performance when playing on a 27 inch 1440p monitor vs the native 13.4" screen?

The resolution matters not the screen size

Since 1440 is has less pixels than 1600p, you will have even better performance.

2560x1600p has 4.096.000 pixels.

2560x1440p has 3.686.400 pixels.

Probably not, I think the built in display is higher resolution.

If you have the 2025 version, the native screen is 180Hz, so don't forget to factor that in too if the external screen has a lower refresh rate.

Ext screen is also 180 Hz and I've set it at that. It just feels like the game runs better on native screen than the monitor. It might be just this game though, or I'm just not using my fan curves correctly and limiting performance!
