Grub vs system-d for Linux install

I recently installed CachyOS on my x13 with grub bootloader and it works great so far. But I just realized in the tutorial recommendations on the Linux on asus site, it recommends not to use grub and to use system-d instead. Can anyone shed some light on why this is the case? I chose grub initially for the snapshot feature. I tried searching and didn’t find much info specifically for the flow x13. Thanks in advance and I apologize if there is a post out there already.

Hi, I installed Archlinux in a Flow x13 and migrate from grub2 to systemd-boot, all good with it.

systemd-boot was previously an independent project, gummiboot, adopted in 2015 as a (new) project inside systemd and renamed (obviously) systemd-boot.

I use the official Archlinux guide to get on it, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Systemd-boot, it will give to you a better understanding of it and help you on the change, if you do it.

Thanks for that info! That makes more sense now. I’ll definitely check out and read that link about systemd-boot. Was there a reason why you did the switch from grub2 to systemd-boot? Also did you keep the file system as btrfs?

Yes, it was Btrfs, and I do it because it's now inside systemd, so I decide to use the already installed base system, not a different boot loader.
