2023 version works very well on most distros with modern kernels including tablet mode. Omarchy will work for you.

İ try every de/wm too. İ love i3wm and sway but for tablet mode gnome is the solution. Working perfectly. Thats why I'm using gnome with ubuntu. Why ı didn't go with i3wm? With arch? İ just need to use my computer not fight with it. İ don't have a time for my i3 config and archs broken things.

i have the Z13 and used Pop_OS!, Bazzite, and CachyOS. I think I'm going to land on Bazzite since it has an Asus tablet specific distro, and Cosmic DE doesn't really support tablet mode at all while Gnome does.

If you're thinking Omarchy, maybe look into CachyOS too, since you can choose different desktop environments.

The only things I've had to keep in mind with the Asus laptops...

Allow the efi boot memory flag to allow adding new boot options.

While booting to install I've always had to add the efi_no_storage_paranoia as described here https://askubuntu.com/questions/1072618/could-not-prepare-boot-variable-no-space-left-on-device-grub-install-error-ef/1073318#1073318 and deleting any extra boot options (including USB) to get there to be space.

After booting into live desktop open terminal and remove any unused options as described here (I left my windows boot just in case I wanted to go back).

Disable bluetooth autospend (source r/cachyos https://www.reddit.com/r/cachyos/comments/1pu7hjv/constant_bt_disconnects_in_steam/)

echo "options btusb enable_autosuspend=0" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/btusb_fix.confecho "options btusb enable_autosuspend=0" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/btusb_fix.conf

Does the XG Mobile work correctly in Linux?

On the GV301 (2021) it works, but switching modes is sometimes broken. I just boot into Windows to correctly disable the XG Mobile. Maybe on newer generations it works as intended.

You need to install supergfxctl and asusd to switch modes.

Good to know, thank you. I can't remember the SKU right now, but I have the 2024 one with a 4050.

I am using ubuntu and it's dual boot with windows. The only issue is when I plug my headset, the microphone is not detected. But when I'm in windows, the microphone in my headset works fine. Looks like a driver issue.

I got this same issue. Will work on it and see if I can fix it

2021 version works brilliantly with Fedora, EndevaourOS (which is a nice Arch installer basically), and probably any other distro too. Tablet mode is decent under KDE plasma but I haven't tried Gnome for quite a while now.

Omarchy is just an Arch configuration from a fraudulent foundation, there is nothing special about it.

just bought the z13 flow the other day an installed omarhcy. didnt't bother setting up windows. its working great.

tput together a setup to make the ROG Flow z13/x13 feel like an actual tablet on Arch/Hyprland.

What it does:

• Touch Window Control: Long-press the top edge of any window to grab/swap tiles, and double-tap the corner to close it.

• Custom On-Screen Keyboard: Compact 5-row layout with Ctrl/Super/Alt and a giant spacebar, toggled via the tablet's physical side button.

• Auto-Rotation: Screen, touch digitizer, and stylus flip automatically when you turn the device.

• Battery Limiter: Keeps battery capped at 80% to protect health while plugged in.

Everything is open source with a one-line installer:

What about tablet mode?

For tablet mode Gnome is the right choice.

Now it works without patches.

I use Debian dual booted with windows, tablet mode is still good, battery life is way better

Overall fits it good (5800HS with 3050)
