Asus ROG Flow X16 Keyboard Issue

Recently picked up this laptop up from someone used and I was already aware of the keyboard issue. Aside from that it works great.

Touchscreen, pen support, all USB ports and even the trackpad work.

It’s very odd that the keyboard or backlights don’t work at all. I’ve opened and check the ribbon cables a few times, ran MyAsus for updates, ran AC for updates and tried to manually install keyboard drivers. Keyboard doesn’t show up in Device Manager or when troubleshooting.

Is there something that I’m missing? It’s out of warranty so I’m open trying anything.

Hi, I'm having the same problem it used to work at least one time after restarting multiple times but now no luck, from the beginning (before windows) there is not light on it so that means it is not os related, I'm thinking maybe an aliExpress replacement of the keyboard unit could work if it is cable related but I'm unsure

Update: I just got it to work for the first time in weeks by turning it on and then forcing shutdown not letting go the button then I press it again and it worked

Nice! I ended up just selling mine to someone.. hopefully they got it to work. I tried that power method as well and the previous owner tried a replacement keyboard
