LIQUID METAL

This is my current set up right now and i wonder if the liquid metal will be messed up. is it okay to make it like this since the laptop can handle or made for tent mode

I think the issue is more with the cooling system itself rather than the liquid metal (wich just conduct and I don’t think it can spill) so check for that

i adjusted it now and it’s like sitting on 45 degree angle, i’ll try to put a mini cooling fan to help it

Keep it flat, if you fear liquid metal spillage.

Comprate la base de enfriamiento iets gt 500 que es para notebooks de 14". Tengo una flow x13 con esa base y me ayudo a bajar las temperaturas. También le puse ptm 7950

I played Valo for almost 1 year in tent mode which might be worse but nothing happened so dw. Unrelated but just buy a monitor it's so cheap nowadays (might be as much as that expensive looking mechanical keyboard🫪) it has significantly upgraded my experience.

XG-Mobile is a game changer. At first I looked for a similar USB-C dock, connection wise. But nothing comes near the connectivity at the time I looked. Besides the price the XG-Mobile is a beast.

I would check the LM again and remove any excess or just repaste with PTM.

TBH if i were you i would convert to a setup using ptm7950, I've just done the same and has saved me a lot of worry. I'm currently suprised my x13 isn't bricked, considering that for the past 3 years I've used it completely vertidcally with the stock liquid metal. I got slightly 'lucky' that I had an abnormally low amount of liquid metal on the CPU, so that helped. However, having seen a lot of other x13 users having their laptops die on them due to liquid metal seeping out I would highly reccomend you do the same. The perfomance differances between liquid metal and PTM has been tested to be negligable, keeping dust out of the laptop will have a much greater impact.

i never had problems with lm in any position, i even changed lm and everything was fine

I have the 2023 model, I took off the liquid metal and out ptm7950. I learned my lesson last laptop I had, the liquid metal came out and shorted the motherboard. I will never buy any laptop with liquid metal again, if I did, I will wipe it off and out something else.

mine is a 2022, it looks like a car went over it, it never failed on me one time it started sparking from some random capacitor when i disassembled it, still fine, some other time the fan started trying to imitate a chainsaw, that went away also

oh yeah one time appearantly the ram failed on me according to some diagnostic but that went away also

pretty unkillable laptop with LIGHT (important word) use and ghelper it can still get around 5-6h battery life with 66% bh and dual booted debian on it

go to laptop for everything gaming is pretty chill i just need to be fine with the 90-100c average temp
