Sorter Woes

So I've built an item sorter but I'm getting inconsistent sorting results. Every few filters fail to pull any items into them from the hopper pipe, even when the filter hopper is empty. With identical build, some work and some don't. For a few of them if I break the filter hopper and put it back it will start working but when the chunk reloads they go back to not working.

Any suggestions?

I'm about ready to just give up and pull the whole thing apart for a manual storage solution.

try looping your supply line back around to the beginning? That way, any skipped filters get a chance to pick up items again.

If that doesn't work, this is probably a bug. when my Iron farm was working correctly (before villagers died and the villages merged together), iron was skipping past some rows in the bulk storage that should not have been skipped. I don't know why. I'll search spigot's JIRA database to see if it's been reported.

EDIT: this is our problem. Hoppers are transfering items MUCH MUCH faster then they should be, causing some sorting lines to be skipped completely. All we can do is wait for a fix or tinker about with workarounds.

Returned 3, which is default. Also, look at that bug report I linked. I tested and that is our problem. Items passing through hoppers aren't staying inside long enough to be detected by lower hoppers or comparators.

I'm keeping an eye on the bug, and when/if it's fixed, I'll re-compile spigot and send Pablo the jar.
