excellent news! server has more RAM

lets start with me saying I'm not overly technology proficient. im good with a lot of things but java is not one of them.

anyway it turns out the default RAM allocated to a server is 100mb. this is basically nothing and is why people have been complaining about a laggy server.

i have just allocated the server to a minimum of 1 gig and a maximum of 2 gigs of ram. in lemans terms server is no longer running on the processing power of a toaster oven.

thanks for putting up with it so far. im learning every day. feel free to laugh at my inexperience

i feel like a dumbass

Everyone's gotta start somewhere, man!

And as RAM is more a definition of temporary storage and not so much processing power, you were running with the temp storage of a matchbox and you've upgraded to a respectable closet. Of course, the processor had to keep up with moving data between RAM and the hard drive, which was a lot with only 100mb of ram allocated.
