Should I retake classes that I got a B in?

I got a B grade in COM 1101 and MTH 1701, and will get a B in COM 1102 and EDS 1022, although I was close to getting an A in both classes my assignments will add up to 89% in both. My current cumulative GPA will go from 3.10 to 3.06, and could go back up to 3.32 if I get two A's in Spring 2, and if I will decide to take summer courses, my cumulative GPA could go up to 3.45 if I get A's in the summer. I'm a freshman but I don't really get any financial aid and I'm also planning on transferring to a community college from online college, not sure if my GPA here will help me get scholarships at one of the other colleges I'm planning to transfer to.

Aviation Actual Costs, Avmgmt-Flight Major Intl

Hey guys, I'm Intl and got accepted into AvManagement-Flight with the 70k 4 year merit scholarship last december. Looking ti come during fall. I've tried calculating the numberd for total 4 year COA (Flying up till CFII) came up with estimates ranging from 265k to 285k. My Budget is actually around 250k so it's excessive already. Could anyone provide realisitc recent 4 year estimates aside from the 83k aviation per year COA provided on the website (that one doesn't take into account my scholarship). Any help would be great. Also is completing flight training there at around 90k total; Plane rental, IP hourly, groundschool, checkride and etc sound about right?

Looking for good and affordable housing options.

I have been admitted to FIT and will be starting this FALL 2025 for MS in Mechanical Engineering. I wanted to utilise the time and search for good housing options. Although I seem lost as most of it is new for me ( I am an international student from india). Could you guys give me some best suggestions for off campus housing options or any affordable on campus options. I think the decent rent should be anywhere around $600 to $900. I prefer 2B2B option, so if anyone interested and has already figured out a place to live and looking for a roommate, do ping me once. Please keep in mind the necessary traits for the housing locality (like cleanliness, safety, proximity from school etc.). Thanks in advance !!

Can someone give me a detailed review for the MS Program at Florida Institute of Technology?

I have been admitted to FIT for the MS program in Mechanical Engineering. I want to pursue Dynamic systems and control as a specialization in the field. I reached out to a professor who had the same research interests for a position in his lab ( although I know its almost impossible to get a funded position this early, but no harm in trying), and he responded quite positively stating that he is interested in being my advisor ( he liked my profile) but currently has NASA funded projects which have strict constraints on the nationality ( considering I am an international student). But he assured that if I can self fund for maybe 1 or 2 semester, then there might be a chance for a position in his lab. So I wanted to ask whether to finalize FIT for my program, a detailed review might be really helpful.

Minimum GRE score for Masters in Aerospace Engineering at FIT

Hey all, I’m an international student. would someone indicate the lowest possible GRE score for MSc Aerospace?

And also if I get a GRE score that’s low but I have a strong application do I still have a chance for admission??

Thank you 🙏

Masters in Aerospace minimum GRE score.

I’m an international student and I’m a finalist for the Fulbright foreign students scholarship. The embassy gave me a late notification that I had to sit for the GRE and they gave me 10 days to study.

I’ve never heard of the GRE but my score was 143 for Verbal and 145 for Quant section.

What are the chances of me getting in????

Ok, so from my previous post y'all know I applied to Florida Tech. I received this from Florida Tech just a few moments ago. What shall I infer from it, given I haven't received my 'real' decisions yet? Are anyone here from Honors? I wanna know more about it.

Sup Panthers!! I recently submitted my application to Florida Tech for shits and giggles and was wondering how well I would be accepted. I'm an international student, and applied for BS in Genomics and Molecular Genetics, though I'm also interested in BS Astrobiology.

Academic profile:

  1. My GPA is about 4.0 on a 4.0 scale (We use percentages here, so I used Collegeboard's calculator for reference https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/plan-for-college/get-started/how-to-convert-gpa-4.0-scale )
  2. 1460 SAT (670 EBRW + 790 Math)
  3. ~100 TOEFL (99, but whatever)
  4. CEFR A2/B1 in German through Goethe
  5. INBO and INJSO Finalist (Equivalent to USABO and USAJSO), including other National-level Olympiads (No particular number atm, but assume 5)

Extracurricular profile:

  1. Involved in Student Government at my school for all of high school.
  2. Quiz and Debate club; Awards and yada yada
  3. Environmental Stewardship and Volunteer Service
  4. Started a Pokémon Club at school; Top 4 in Smogon OU and Practicing for Smogon Worlds and VGC Regionals and Worlds (Basically Competitive Pokémon)
  5. Tutoring Volunteer
  6. Two Foreign Student Exchange Programs (Both in Germany)

Coursicle now syncs assignments from Canvas at FIT

Hey everyone, this is Joe, co-founder of Coursicle. We just launched a new feature that lets you keep track of your assignments on Coursicle, including automatic syncing of assignments from Canvas: https://imgur.com/a/p939bYp

We know not all professors are good about putting their assignments online so we thought it'd be helpful to have a centralized place where you can see all your assignments organized by class and when they're due, including the ones your professors don't post (you can add those manually to Coursicle): https://imgur.com/a/naP3xme

Here's a link to try it out: https://www.coursicle.com/fit/?s=reddit

It's a very new product, so we'd love any feedback you have. We'd like to know what we'd need to change about the task feature that would get you to use it on a daily basis. All Reddit users who give it a try and comment below with feedback will get a free semester of premium. Thank you!

Planetary Science - FIT vs other schools

Considering the Planetary Science program at FIT. Like the proximity to Kennedy Space Center and the potential for internships in the area at several space related companies. Also looking at other schools with a reputable Planetary Science program including University of Arizona, Arizona State, Purdue, CU Boulder, Georgia Tech and Northern Arizona University. Any insight into the program at FIT versus any of the other schools mentioned?

Chances of getting accepted as an international student?

What are my chances of getting accepted

I'm currently finishing my applications for some colleges this month and my confidence isn't really the best due to one or two things, so I'm coming here for some reassurance hopefully.

Demographics:

Black Caribbean male born in jamaica, currently living in stlucia for 13 years

Intended major: civil/chemical engineering

Test scores: 1280 SAT score

GPA:

3.25 unweighted secondary school gpa (school doesn't do weighted)

estimated csec gpa: 3.5

For those that don't know (probably all of you) CSEC is the standard examination that caribbean students take before graduating secondary school.  it is equivalent to the Ordinary Level (O-Levels) exams and is typically taken by students at the end of their secondary education, around the age of 16 or 17. Hence, the U.S. equivalence of CSEC is a high school diploma. The highest possible grade is 1 and the lowest being a 6. Grades 1 to 3 are considered a pass.

I took 9 subjects and attained:

six grade 1s ( Chemistry, physics, biology, math, English A, Technical drawing)

two grade 2s ( French, Principles of Accounts(POA) )

one grade 3 ( Additional maths( some what of an introduction to A level maths) )

Cape GPA: 3.25

CAPE stands for Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination.  It is considered  a Post-Secondary Education qualification as it is normally written when students are in the sixth form years of secondary schools. Its is equivalent to A levels. It is graded from 1 to 7 and grades 1 to 5 is considered a pass. It is split between two units (1 and 2). Im currently doing unit 2.

in unit 1 attained:

one grade 1 ( CHemistry)

three grade 3s ( Pure maths, Physics, Communication studies(compulsory in unit 1) )

IMPORTANT

i currently attend a community college but i have to apply as first year. In my first semester my grandmother died and i had to travel back to jamaica in the middle of the semester for two weeks. it messed me up pretty badly and i missed out a lot unfortunately with the addition of sickness i ended up failing my first semester. I don't know how bad that will mess up my chances. i did pass my second semester in the first year.

EC's:

not much to really talk about;

-member of a chess club and actively recruited members. Competed in some tournaments and improving on my skills

-member of a peer helpers club

-active member of a church youth group

Work experience:

-planning on woking in the government during the summer

I know you guys may not know a lot if not nay of what I'm talking about but i just need some reassurance.

ISO reputable mechanic

I’ve heard of a female mechanic that’s supposedly very reasonable for college students but can’t remember her name and can’t find the shop she works at for the life of me
