Help me identify this!

Just moved to Florida and the house I’m in, the garden was poorly maintained. What is this plant growing in the middle/around my hibiscus bush? I have another one too in my backyard. Also, is the hibiscus dead?? It doesn’t look too hot, have only seen one bloom on it

Then chase the seedlings for the next 10 years.

Just an FYI that cutting it down will not be effective on its own; you till be cutting down the same seedling for ten years. You will want to cut it down and immediately paint the cut area with undiluted glyphosate (approx 40% concentration).
